Looks like Joely Rod's days are done at long last.  He was DFA'd today.  Uwasawa was called up from AAA.

SeaBeachFred

Keep in mind Sea Dog that Boston's definition of DFA'd always means the guy is not claimed, sent down and before we know it he is back with the RedSox Joely will most likely be back unless he is RELEASED!!!!!.  Stil move was long overdue.  Now the job at hand is to win this series and show we can be a winning team.

Once again ESPN shows it has no business broadcasting MLB.  Houck pitching in 5 th and ESPN decides interviewing a Japanese pitcher about his musical skills is somehow more interesting than the ball game.

elktonnick

Yea ESPN all the Cubs and Red Sox fans tuned in to watch a Japanese pitcher nod his head while his translator talks instead of watching Devers or O'Neal hit.

2 more runs in. Too bad O'Neill had to stand there looking at strike three, but I'll take the two runs.

markj

I hardly ever get to watch a Red Sox game, but the couple times I have seen one this year, they were leading until I tuned in and then started losing. I'm a jinx.

Great game nice win against a quality team.  Sox win the series.

longgame

There was something else they were going on about how Duran should have tagged on a short fly ball to LF and tagged up when instead he took a lead, waited to see if they got it and then scored. If he had waited to tag he would have been out if the ball dropped, instead he scored.  He also would have been out if he tried to score on caught ball in short left field.  I think they just like hearing the sounds of their voices.

But good series.  I didn't see either of the first two as I was camping but caught most of last night's game including the walk off win.  Now a day off to shuffle some roster moves - see ya Bobby Dalbec.  Plus it looks like they signed a Japanese pitcher who I guess takes Joely Rodtriguez's place.

It looks like Dalbec is going to stick around.  They brought up Garrett Cooper who is a 1B.  That seems redundant with Dalbec on 1B, unless Raffy gets more DH and Dalbec is the 3B.  To make room for Cooper the DFA Pablo Reyes.

My guess is that Grissom is finishing his rehab, and he will be promoted to replace Dalbec and would probably cover the positions played by Reyes.

It looked like Houck was starting to gas out in the eighth so replacing him didn't give me a burn, but it seems that already we get good starting pitcher and our bullpen gives it back or away.  When you get a three run lead in the eighth you hold it come what may.  Still we won the series and I watched it again today since I recorded it yesterday after noon.  As for that long winded interview between the Japanese pitcher and interpreter WHAT THE #$%% WAS THAT?  ESPN made no friends with that debacle during  the game.

I think Grissom is supposed to be called up today.  But they also seem to want to have some flexibility at 1B and apparently have nobody else than can play the position.  I was also surprised to see that Casas is on the 60 day IL.  I didn't see that previously.
