RAYS V SOX

SATURDAY, APRIL 7, 2017, 1 PM AT FENWAY PARK

TV:  NESN, FOX SPORTS, MLBN, (OUT-OF-MARKET ONLY)

TAMPA, (1-6)..................................................................................BOSTON, (6-1)

TAMPA:

JAKE FARIA, RHP, 0-0, 2.25 ERA, 2K

Faria faces the Red Sox again after allowing one run in four innings against them
April 1 at Tropicana Field in his first start of the season, a no-decision.  Faria will be
making his first career start at Fenway Park.

BOSTON:

RICK PORCELLO, RHP, 1-0, 1.69 ERA, 4K

Thanks to a scheduling quirk in which the Red Sox have three days off in a six-
day span, Porcello will be on six days of rest.  He hopes it goes as well as his last
start, which was  also against the Rays, when he gave up one run over 5 1/3 innings.

Porcello is throwing batting practice. Classic lousy first inning for him. Hope he gets out of it without too much damage and settles down.

Sea Dog 23

All the damage on just 17 pitches.  He was a puzzle only to himself.

markj

Sox catch a break. Bases loaded, no outs. They must do something with this.

markj

Sac fly by JD. Almost a granny. One run in and runners on 2nd and 3rd, so no DP scenario.

Xander still hitting. Another double for him. Two more runs in.

markj

Raffy brings Xander home. Sox up 4-2 now. Keep it going.

markj

JBJ gives it a ride, but to no avail. Good inning for the Sox bats, though. Not so much for Faria.

It looks so cold, the pitchers doing rather well, 4 inches of snow yesterday,
I was not a happy camper.

Bill-806

Please, stop with the foolish gestures/dancing on the base paths, looks so little league/ish  !!! thumb_d rofl rofl

They played in Detroit last week in 36 degrees.  There were about 22 runs in the game.  The MLB guys said pitchers could not really grip the ball in that weather.

We had snow yesterday as well, but it didn't accumulate. Just now getting above freezing here. Will be in the 60s and 70s next week, so Spring is coming soon.

Porcello isn't looking much better. Throwing lots of pitches. He did get a K, though.
