RED SOX AT BLUE JAYS

7:07 PM, EDT, AUGUST 9, 2018

ROGERS CENTRE, TORONTO

TV:  NESN, SNET

BOSTON, (81-34).................................................................................TORONTO, (51-62)

BOSTON:

RICK PORCELLO, RHP, 14-4, 3.84 ERA, 135K

The righty is coming off arguably the best start of his career, the comlete-
game one-hitter against the Yankees in which he faced 28 batters.  Porcello will
try to keep it going at Rogers Centre, where he is 4-6 with a 4.87 ERA lifetime.

TORONTO:

RYAN BORUCKI, LHP, 1-2, 3.40 ERA, 30K

Borucki has pitched six or more innings in all but one of his seven MLB starts,
the one poor performance coming against the Red Sox on July 13, when he allowed
seven runs (four earned) over three-plus innings.

Schloicka

No gem for Porcello tonight. Sox will need to score a few runs.

That lead was short lived. 7-4 Jays right now. No outs in the 5th for the Jays.

markj

Nice DP courtesy of Leon. Then he showed off his warning track power.

markj

Benintendi is hopeless against the shift if he doesn't get the ball in the air.

markj

Bad luck for Xander. Hard hit right at the 3rd baseman. Running out of innings here.

markj

Leon giving the Jays OF some practice tonight. 0-4 with 4 flyouts.

Schloicka

Sox not going to win this one. Re-group and on to Friday.

Porcello with a crappy outing. That says it all. Kudos to Mookie, though. One bright spot tonight.
