Jim Rice said that this current edition has trouble hitting off speed pitches.  We noticed time and time again that otherwise ineffective pitchers who throw junk easily dominate this club.  I have also noticed that they are once again rolling over on too many pitches and not as aggressive early in the count as they had been earlier in the year.

The Minnesota radio guys were marveling at it at times.  Beni had an at bat where he "saw" three sliders that were out of the zone but he came up ready to swing and did each time.  The announced commented that he didn't even see, he was just going to swing.  That seems to be common on this team - come up and start hacking away, hoping a ball may be where the bat is.  I'd also like to see a stat on first pitch swings.  It seems when they do make rare contact they hit it to someone for an easy out.  Sure helps the pitchers though when you get down to these guys hacking, they can plow through out lineup on 4 or 5 pitches per inning.

The funny game of baseball.  OK, so the NYY have 4 fewer losses, but looking at all the aggregate stats, there's nothing that screams out "Oh the NYY are so much better in this category!"  Actually, both teams are pretty even across the board.  Only thing that sticks out: NYY = 6 walk off Ws  SOX = 1 walk off.......

2.0 GB is minimal at this point.  Chalk it up to a bad break here or there and some in-game decisions?

Chalk it up to a couple of bad decisions but mostly keeping guys in the lineup who can't hit their weight.  I'd rather have Ramirez in the lineup and DHing with Martinez in the field than have JBJ ever come to the plate again in a Red Sox uniform.

The longer JBJ is in the lineup the more we will see rallies die and close ballgames lost.

Well at least Ted and Elk can see it but the question is when will Coraass and the AWOL Dumbo going to see it too?  It is now evident to me that our addled brained manager will NOT take Bradley out of the lineup either because he has been ordered not to (pruney or dumbo) or he still thinks that the bum will turn it around.  He will not.  Dumbo, unless he is behind the insistence that Bradley plays, must step in and get Bradley out of Boston any way possible.  He is killing us, and while about it get a catcher who can hit.  We won't win close games with these shitheads in the lineup.  The Yanks have a four game edge on us now....that's right FOUR GAMES......It is the loss column that we must look at and we are in deep shit right now with underachievers, a lousy manager who dotes pablum to the players and players who love being spooned pablum----like the talented but  totally leaderless Betts, the lazy laid back Bogaerts and those two previously mentioned dorks who we must make somehow disappear.
