Ladies & gentleman , Boys & Girls, Welcome to Boston's COLD but friendly FENWAY PAAK...... Make us proud boys, make HAY to keep warm..... A great 2018 to all !! thumb_u thumb_u
1-2-3 for Price who surprisingly is hitting 94 on the gun right from start.
Base running ?????? AGAIN, aggressive or dumb ???? This has to be about the 7th+- runner to try and make a base when the ball is still close enough to the catcher ??? AGRESSIVE or COACHES ?? iono iono

Alex, I'll take COACHES for $100.
That was all on Beni.
Windblown triple for JD as Kiermyer had trouble and ball skips off the top of glove.
JD on 3rd with no outs and no one can bring him in.3 groundouts.

Should of scored on the Xman ground out but JD didn't read it well so stayed put.
Must be more $$$$$ in making outs than getting HITS ?? iono iono
Another team in this division scored 18 runs (11 and 7) vs the Rays the last two days. I know it's early and there's a different pitcher, but could be a slight measuring stick of the offense.
Severino and the Yankees staff must be licking his chops waiting to face the hitless wonders aka the Red Sox.
This is Chirinos's second major league game and the Red Sox have not scored a run and have just three hits though 5 innings.
The incomparable Sergio Romo and his blazing 84mph issues a BB and gets 2Ks against the worthless bats of the Sox.
Another excellent outing from Price. 7 IP 3h 3 bb 5k no runs.
Carson Smith issues a 2 run bomb.
2-0 TB, top of 8th.
Not looking good for the Sox
BP not doing good at all.

And the offense looks horrendous against rookies from the BP.
Music ??? Forget the music, it's the PING PONG.... Remember when we were kids, the coaches told us not to play PING PONG or TENNIS during baseball season ?????? iono iono rofl rofl rofl
Should they lose IMHO the loss is on the inept offense more than Smith?
Very nice play from HR robbing a hit.

Only 3 hits through 8 innings and one of them was luck. Not a recipe for winning. Need a big 9th.
Mookie leads off the 9th with Sox 1st hit since the 3rd.
Beni after 0-2 in the count draws a walk .2 on 0 outs.
Hanley flares to CF and cuts the deficit to 1.
JD hits into DP.It's up to Bogey
Bogey doubles off the Monster ties it up.
Raffy with a free pass and Nunez up and gets an IF hit .Great play by Duffy to keep init the IF
A close review play goes against the Sox. Extra innings coming. Kimbrel on the mound.
Tell the RED SOX to stop crying about the REPLAY & get out there & PLAY BALL !! Next question, J B J ???? iono iono iono

Bobby Poyner will make his Fenway Park debut in place of Craig Kimbrel for the 11th.

Duffy has had a great game on D
He saved the Rays at least twice today.
Gotta love the job Poyner has done.
HANLEY
Poyner with the win. HANLEY with the game winner.

As DAD would say, "Well SON, how do ya like J B J NOW" ?? Also, I like that Bobby Poyner lad !! OH, how about the HAN/RAM ???? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
It took nine innings for the bats to warm up and three more to push the deciding run across the plate. Maybe this will be a Hanley year after all.

Took a while for the bats to come alive but better late than never. Poyner has delivered in the early going. Thankfully Cora went with a lefty in the pen.I would not be surprised if it wasn`t Levangie that told the rookie manager to add him to the roster.

YAHOOOO!
Thank you Hanley!!!
6 wins in a row!
That POYNER boy reminds me of a young left handed DICK RAADATZ without the BLINDING fastball !!! YA THINK ??????
Bogaerts, JFK and Hanley all came up with clutch hits. While it wasn't the game winning hit, one has to give the Xman his due. His hit in the ninth was HUGE!!!!
Who would have THUNK that on APRIL 5th the SOX would be 6 & 1 ???? Alex Cora will show us what APRIL & MAY means to a POST SEASON BOUND TEAM !!! What say you ???? thumb_u thumb_u iono iono iono rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl
6-1 is very nice. VERY nice. But, heck, these bats are eerily familiar to last year's: they don't do much until after the 7th or 8th inning.
Which means Sale and Price will hold an MLB record at the end of this season: most IPs for 2 starters with Top 3 ERAs and less than 20 Ws combined? ;) :o

CONCUR, although 6 & 1 is good to see at this point..... Heck, the WEATHER for the weekend & next weeks YANK$ visit is not conducive to midseason BASEBALL, one game at a time !! thumb_u iono iono
The best thing about this game was it went extras. I was hiking all day and didn't get to the car until about the 7th, so caught a few innings at least! I just don't get this lack of hitting. Maybe it's the fact that they hitters have no rhythm since they don't play enough? Anyhow, they need these bats to come alive very soon.
Carson Smith sucks. He's given up as many runs as all of the starters.
Had to laugh, I usually watch the games on TV, but got to listen to this one on the radio. Hanley drives in 2 including the game-winner and WEEI says the "Player of the game" is JBJ! Maybe they wanted him to feel good? Sure he had a timely hit, but Hanley was the star of the game.

Maybe because Jackie was in that bruhaha in the 9th with the replay on his ground out/close play at 1B.

JBJ really hung in there and shows why we should not give up on him..... Will be interesting to see what J D as the show (YANK$) comes to town on Tuesday, will see if J D can handle the BOSTON FANS in the STANDS !! Again, how about BOBBY POYNER, great article on the WEEI web page !! thumb_u thumb_u
