RED SOX V RANGERS
THURSDAY, MAY 3, 2018, 8:05 EDT, AT GLOBE LIFE PARK, ARLINGTON
TV: NESN, FSSW, MLBN, (OUT-OF-MARKET, ONLY)
BOSTON, (22-8)............................................................................................TEXAS, (12-20)
BOSTON:
DAVID PRICE, LHP, 2-3, 3.78 ERA, 28K
The lefty didn't have his usual sharpness and command last time out,
giving up eight hits, six runs (five earned) and four walks in a loss to the
Rays. He will try to get back on track, where he is 4-2 with a 6.53 ERA in
eight career starts.
TEXAS:
MIKE MINOR, LHP, 2-1, 4.33 ERA, 24K
The Rangers have been cautious with Minor's workload as he pitches
on extra rest for the sixth straight start this season. Mike has displayed
excellent control with six walks over 27 innings and just two free passes
in his last three starts.

YIKES -
Two pitches and two outs for the Texas pitcher.
AND 2 pitches to Martinez and out/
4 pitches and out of the inning.
CRAZY
Rangers 2 - Sox 0
Hit by pitch, triple and sac fly
Second inning
Pricey has thrown 35 pitches in two. Do we have to pray for a rainout?
Mookie does it again. 2-1
JD missing change-ups by a mile, but gets a base hit anyway.

Price continues to look tentative out there. He has no confidence in his stuff.
Raffy boots another one.
Oh boy. This is not looking like Price's night. And JD is really not too sharp in LF.
Rangers 4 - Sox 1
Errors and Price
CRAZY.
The Rangers are not a good team at the moment
and the Sox are making them look good.
AND, DAMN - The Yankees beat the Astros 6 - 5
scoring 3 runs in the top of the 9th inning.
They beat the Astros 3 out of 4.
UGHHHHHHHHH

Beni would have gotten that one. At the very least he would have prevented the second run.
Bases loaded still. No outs. One run in. JBJ at bat. What could possibly go wrong?
He K's.
C'mon, Mookie. No GIDP, please. Another dinger would be nice.
There you go. Sac fly. Now 4-3.
Geez, Hanley. Don't hustle on our account or anything. Just take your time.

JBJ continues to do what he does best.
Price is sharp as a cheese ball tonight.
Auuuugh!!!! Price walks the leadoff batter.
Who comes around to score.
David Price just doesn't have it tonight.
He needs to go.
WHAT is going on with him?
Rangers 5 - Sox 3
Price has lost his fastball. He is only throwing it in the low 90s. He reminds me more and more of what happened to Josh Beckett. I blame the damn cutter.
He needs to get out of this game.
He's going to let this game get out of reach. Somebody need to slap Cora to wake him up. Get Price out of there!
Now he's going to walk in a run. Just for fun.
Hey, whadya know. Cora finally woke up and realized they're losing.
DAMN!
PRICE needs to go.
AND then, they need to find an "injury" and put him on the DL.
Enough already.
Can't believe they paid him all that money.
Price needs a major rethink of his entire approach. He is shadow of his former self.
You can't be serious. First pitch from Hector results in another freebie run.
This team is falling apart. They playing the worst team only they look worse.
PUNCH in the gut.
Rangers 10 - Sox 3.
Not watching anymore.
Well I guess that's the end of this game. Time to go do something useful.
Sox lose 11 - 5.

Believe it or not I am beginning to see a little crack or two in Hanley's attitude; nothing real serious yet but we better stay tuned. He could go south in a hurry and Cora would be the last to pick up on it. Hope I am wrong on that because we need Ramirez badly at the plate.. If things go south for the team you can bet HR will be among those who go south with them.

You might be smarter on this than me Elk. I can't figure out what the hell is wrong with our team save for Rafey not belonging on third base and should be groomed as the future DH, Bradley being sent on a one way trip to Zanzibar and Benintendi having better learn how to hit lefthanders unless he wants to be a platoon player. Come to think of it I do know a few things. The one damn thing I know for sure is that this team sucks to high heaven right now and Bradley needs to sit and sit and sit and then be traded to the NL for a bag of balls, a can of tomatoes and maybe a dozen tacos.
David Price:
"After opening 2018 with two dazzling performances (two wins, zero earned runs in 14 innings),
Price is 1-4 with an 8.22 ERA in his past five starts. Though Thursday's outing, in which Price
allowed nine runs (seven earned), was clearly his low point, it was part of a concerning trend
in which he's given up four runs or more in four of his last five starts.
by Ian Browne
8.22 ERA - absolutely ridiculous AND unacceptable
The David Price Era in Boston is ovah. Done. Finito. Kaput.
He shouldn't start another game for the Sox. They gotta find a way to unload him or sit him in the bullpen.
The NYY are ONE game behind.
This team not worth the heartache! sigh
