From MLB:

The Red Sox placed Nathan Eovaldi on the 10-day injured list with what they termed a loose body in his right elbow. Boston summoned left-hander Bobby Poyner from Triple-A Pawtucket to fill his roster spot.

Eovaldi, who was instrumental in the Red Sox's march to the World Series championship last season, was re-signed this winter to a four-year deal. Eovaldi has a 0-0 record and a 6.00 ERA in four starts this season.

Eovaldi has had Tommy John surgery twice -- once in high school, and in 2016 while pitching for the Yankees.

Hopefully it's not serious for Eovaldi - who the Sox signed to a contract that was widely questioned given his prior health history.

Today we have the human cipher in the lineup, Sandy Leon.

Wondered if they could hold it.  So does it make sense to call up a guy, fly him down to St. Pete and stick him in a high leverage situation right away?  Another early season screw up by Cora.

Yep, Poyner just gave a two run triple after walking a batter.

Barnes struck out the side in the 8th, however he began the inning with a homer to Diaz.  Now tied 5-5 heading to thev9th.

First series win!  Sox manage to put on a late run and then a great pick off at 1B to win it.  Lots of things to be happy about with these last two games.

Time to get things rolling, lets hope they can tack on another win tomorrow.

Heck of a win!  Great way to end a ballgame.  Saw Chavis in Ft Myers.  That kid can hit with power.  Surprised that they hadn't brought him up sooner.  I have a feeling he is going to make it difficult to send him back down.

BTW what was it with all those triples.  Can't recall the last time that I saw so many in a ball game.

It was a good day on most fronts.  After today Sox no longer have the worst record in the AL.  Surpass both Balt., losing a double dip, and KC, and win a series against the AL's top team.

The team is showing some improvement.  Global warming must be affecting
the teams.
