Looks like a decent lineup offense-wise.
I like this lineup especially against lefties. I wouldn't mind seeing this as the lefty platoon option at least until Devers gets back where you'd swap out Holt.
I'm not familiar with Matthew Boyd other than I looked up his numbers and the Sox should jump all over this guy.
READY to GO !!! Lineup looks good, David Price ?? Let the FUN begin !! thumb_u rofl rofl rofl

Remember Bill, it's only fun IF WE WIN!!!!!!! So let's get it done.
Baseball is back! Friday night, too.
Easy 9-pitch 1st inning for Price.
End of the 2nd inning: Price at 16 pitches, Boyd at 47.
JD with a helluva catch for a guy who supposedly can't play outfield well.
Price gets himself into a bases loaded, no outs jam.
Argh. Price had all day to throw to 2B to get a runner but he delayed and then made a crappy throw. Holt gets injured on the play. What should have been a DP nets just one run and possibly costs us Holt. Why can't pitchers throw cleanly to a base?
Price manages to get himself out of the jam. Still 1-0 Sox.
Sox infield keeps fumbling the ball and wasting DP chances.
Thought this game looked like a cakewalk in the 1st inning, but the Sox bats have gone quiet and the infield is showing the rust of having several days off. Still 1-0. Sox have two on and no outs in the 6th. Need to get some runs in here.
Bases loaded and they get nothing.
Nunez has done nothing all year. Glad the Sox needed him back so badly.

We need to hope Holt isn’t out long.
These kind of games make me nervous - low scoring and close. Lots of missed opportunities tonight.
One run through 6-1/3. Not a stellar start for a highly paid ace, but not bad. The bats need to wake up now.
Yanks are down 3 runs on the Mets in the 7th. Surprise, surprise.
Attaboy, Hembree.
Sox have given the Tigers 3 or 4 extra outs this game. This last one may come back to bite them.
Make that 5 extra outs. Inning should be over, but two guys who K'd are on base now.
I guess only one of the wild pitch batters made it to 1st. You can't run to first to a wild pitch if someone is there already, right?
Sox pitching has been living dangerously tonight, but they're holding the line. Barnes had to work hard to close out that inning.

You are correct if there are less than 2 outs. With 2 outs you can run.

Thanks, Geo. So if you run with two outs with a man already at 1st, can the catcher throw out the man at 2nd instead of 1st?
Sox bats were useless that inning. Up to Kimbrel now.

Yes.
Yanks coming back. Now 6-5.
Awesome. Great, great pitching tonight. Sloppy infield play, but great pitching. thumb_u
Go Mets!!
Interesting game to say the least. But a win is a win. On to Saturday.
Mets tack on a run. Now 7-5 in the bottom of the 9th.
Yankees lose. Sox now up by 5-1/2. Very sweet.
Thank you, Mets!
I went to the movies and saw Denzel at his best so I got home late in the game. From what I've been hearing it was a scary night with sloppy defense and weak to listless hitting, but while we would have lost this game from 2014-2017 we won it tonight. We have to hit better the next game or two because you can't expect to stop the Tigers with no runs every time out. But as George put it, we won and that is what counts. The Mets surprised all of us by beating the Yanks so we picked up another game in the standings. Every little bit helps but let's come back tomorrow with a better game.
BTW, let me know how bad Holt got hurt. I hate losing that guy; he is a gamer and we play better when he is in the lineup. Lin does very little for me and why is Nunez still cold with the bat. He hasn't broken open his hitting prowess yet and we need him to contribute.
If they win tomorrow, Sox will be playing .700 ball in July. Unbelievable.

This is the best part of it. Glad we held on to win.
Price is still in my doghouse; he's got about 3 more outings like this to earn his way out of it.
WOW, the STARS were aligned last night...… The RUST of a week off and we WIN while the YANK$ lost !!!! Now, only concern today is how J D & BROC feel today ????? Yes, J D does scare me in the O F ????? thumb_u iono iono iono
