Like the SHAKE UP, but what is the word on J D M ????? iono iono iono iono

elktonnick

Nunez should not be playing 2nd. The pop up in the 2nd and the missed communication between Nunez and JBJ is another example of the lack of focus to which I refer

elktonnick

Pearce caught napping on routine fly out to left letting the runner move up,  another example of the lack of focus

elktonnick

JBJ got another double down to the left field.  He is starting to hit by going the other way.  Weber pitched a heck of a game through 6.

elktonnick

Tremendous play by Devers from his knees getting the out.  Devers is improving steadily at third.  Don't laugh but this kid is going to be a gold glover one day.

Sea Dog 23

Hey, if Pierce gets in a groove.  3 hits incl. a 2 run shot!

Weber really came through Nice sox win.  On to Houston.  This upcoming series will tell us a lot about where this club really stands vis a vis the contenders

Sea Dog 23

Saw a blurb that JDM MAY be headed to the IL.  No doubt we need his bat down in Houston.

The JDM blurb is so far unconfirmed.  What is a fact is Thorny placed on the IL (squeaky hip?) and Lakins getting the call up.

Ryan Weber was a pleasant surprise.
Good win!

On to Houston.

Sea Dog, another item I've been droning on and on about is that Cora has to stop jerking Steve Pearce around and give him some steady action if he wants him to contribute to the team's offense.  Today we saw what he can do if he gets some regular at-bats.  He can play first or in the outfield and he gives us some solid RH power but only if he is sharp.  At least let Cora play him regularly against southpaws because he has proven he can hit them well.

Well we got the lead in the middle innings and took it two steps further late in the game to win the series 3-1.  that was the good part and I most certainly will take it, but the Yankees won four straight from the Orioles so we actually lost a game in the standings.  It is a tough situation we find ourselves in but Cora brought all on himself last March.  Now while the Yankees get bumbling Kansas City for three games we have to invade Houston and maybe without JD Martinez.  It is now time for our  team start sucking it up and just make it happen.  A series win over the Astros would be just what the doctor ordered but a sweep at their hands would not.  Well, at any rate, good for the Red Sox winning three of four from the Blue Jays

Murph

Weber and his blazing 87 MPH FB and that power 77 MPG dancing CB looked damn comfortable in his 1st start. At least he showed he could handle the powerful rebuilding team the Jays trot out there . Wonder what the hell E rod is thinking after he got embarrassed by the same team.
