Not sure why he was swinging. The pitcher hadn't really thrown anything over the plate all inning. If your swinging you needed at least a fly ball to tie it up.

I watched the last 1-1/2 innings. Verdugo was getting ready for the pitcher to deliver and I thought right away that he was gonna try to ambush one. Sure enough!
