Yikes, Pivetta gave up a grand slam in the 1st.  We've clawed back to make it 4-3.

Some Fenway magic, maybe?

We came back from behind again and won in the late innings with a three run eighth.  This to me was a good comeback win and perhaps we can do this more often if we can get our pitchers to go more than four or five innings and gas the bullpen by August.  Once again our closer got the job done.  Nice to win the first two of this four game series.  Maybe we're not as crappy as we have looked at times.  Then again, who really knows about this club?

Baseball things happen when you least expect them.  Chang was like 0-16 on the year, yet he provides a lot of the mojo for the win.  Big homer, and 2-run single in the last inning.  But none of that 8th inning stuff happens without the Angels collapsing again in the field.

Two catcher's interference calls in one inning. Three in one game. What on Earth is going on here? As Eck might have said, the Angels are falling out of their tree.

If he didn't say that about the Angels, hi might be saying that about the Rays. Beating up on last place teams for a 13-0 start didn't hold up against Toronto this weekend.

To your point, it's official. We are the only team in the majors without a Quality Start.

You spoke too soon Mongo.  We got a quality start and much more from Whitlock today, but like you did any of us really expect it after Garrett's less than impressive opening start a few das ago.  Of course, we have to find a way to keep our pitchers healthy because we cannot count on using Kenley game after game.  BTW,  aren't all of us a little impressed at least the way Jansen disposed to those big hitters in the ninth inning Friday night and came back yesterday to pick up another save.  Let's just hope our bullpen continues to do its job and we suffer no more injuries in that locale.
