I thought it might be good to have a thread going to use for smaller news and happenings involving the Red Sox affiliates and the prospects. It's been fun over the years to pop in and watch some of these guys play before they arrive on the scene. The in game TV coverage isn't the best, but it beats nothing. I'll start this off with a few links that I frequent.

https://www.soxprospects.com/index.html - Sox Prospects.com doesn't get quite so rosie on prospects' potential as other sites I've seen. A good alternative to the MLB's Red Sox top-30 prospect list.
https://www.mlb.com/prospects/redsox/ - The MLB Red Sox site for their top-30 prospects.
https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/affiliate.cgi?id=BOS&year=2023 -  Baseball Reference landing spot for their stat pages for 2023 Boston Red Sox Affiliates. The ads have become annoying and brutal this year. I'm likely to stop using them soon as I can get used to another site.

Affiliates' official sites. The links to players, stats and schedules are under "Schedule" and "Team" on the very top row's menu.
https://www.milb.com/worcester  - The official Worcester Red Sox page. (AAA)
https://www.milb.com/portland  - The official Portland Sea Dogs page.  (AA)
https://www.milb.com/greenville - The Official Greenvile Drive page. (A+)
https://www.milb.com/salem - The Official Salem Red Sox page. (A-)

https://www.milb.com/live-stream-games/ - Minor League baseball feeds. Select the Red Sox from "Organization" menu. It's cheap enough for a year subscription, but the games are supposed to come with your MLB subscription.

Also note that NESN/NESN2 has been showing some Worcester games so far this year.

If anyone has some site that should be included above, post them and I will copy and paste here.

I didn't even know we had this section. I hope others look here.

OK, so the first one to watch for Red Sox fans gets really interesting. This guy is red hot. He is actually on the 40-man roster and he does play a position of need. David Hamilton. The same David Hamilton (70 SB) that was half of our prize for the Renfroe and JBJ's Salary trade.

Ordinarily I would not get all to excited about a minor leaguer on a two week hot streak. Especially one that hit .251 last year and has never hit above .258. How he got to .251 is a story in itself. He hit 429 in the 3-week Portland September to raised it 25 points.

And now he starts the season where he left off? Far too early to call it a breakout of any sorts, but if he's still hitting well on June 1st, we might have to chat about that. He started red hot last season, too, but started a nose dive that included a .186 May.

Here's to hoping!!!

Durbin Feltman got released a week ago. There was some buzz in Spring Training a few years back, but lost his heater and that was that.

I've said it a few years ago and I'll post again. If any of you have a chance to see a game at Fluor Field in Greenville, do it. It's in an area the city has been sprucing up and the ballpark dimensions, including the pinball machine-like contours in RF, are like Fenway's. And you can even get a seat atop the Monster without it costing an arm and a leg and one of Fred's kidneys.

Hey Fred, you bring the kidneys and you can rest up at my place.  I'm only a couple of hours from Greenville!

Zenjak, nice to see you back. I'm sure your family is saying the same!

For the next meet-up, I'll bring the fava beans and a bottle of chianti.
