Both teams at 2-4, but thanks to the Royals' awful start, the Tigers aren't in the basement like the Sox.

Two pitchers with rough starts last week.  Sale has an ERA of 21, the Tigers guy is even more bleak with a 27 era.  Sox and Tigers near the top of runs surrendered, both at 38.  Oakland is on the very top at 41.  Somethings gotta give with these so-called pretenders.

Sale walks the first two batters.  Nothing drives me crazier than leadoff walks.

In the 2nd, a walk then a homer.  2-0 Tigers.  Sox get one back in the 3rd, 2-1.  Miggy gets a RBI single in their 3rd for 3-1.  No consistent damage for Sale, but he is not a mystery for the Tigers today.

Sea Dog 23

Sale has pitched through 5, 74 pitches.  Sox bats are in a bit of a funk last three days, only 3 hits today.  Tigers 3-2.

After a Devers bomb in the 5th.  Duvall goes deep to score three.  Now 6-3 still in the 6th.

Schreiber is in.  Sale pulled after 74 pitches, about the same as for Kluber on Wed.

Another pre programed move, Sale removed after 5. Sox up.

In Sale's case, I think they don't want to rush this guy into  long innings if can be avoided until he regains full strength and can show he can stay healthy.  As for as the use of our other pitchers it seems like this gang of incompetents running the team still cannot decide who can start and how long they can go.......and they better get this straightened out very soon or our bullpen will be gassed out by the trading deadline.  It was nice to see the team come back from a deficit and win the opener of this four game series with the Tigers, but that sweep at the hands of the Pirates still should rankle others as it does me.  Let's now see if we can win two or three in a row.

What's with the day off tomorrow after starting a 4 game series on a Thursday? Wouldn't it have been better to play 4 straight and have Monday off?

The Friday after a Thursday home opener thing for the Tigers is all that is.

Coming out of the O's series, they were running at will on McGuire/our pitchers.  For the Tigers, McGuire and Sale seemed to have figured out the technique of holding runners on, or was it the Tigers just don't run?  Maybe more of the latter.

For the Sox Yoshida got a steal and Kike' was picked off of 1st.  Also Yoshida caught in a rundown trying to score from 3rd on a grounder to the pitcher.  The 9th was a mess for the Sox with bases loaded and 1 out, batters could not hit the ball past the pitcher.
