This game will no doubt be tougher but we stunk the first DH header on Tuesday and need to gut it up to get a split on the series and the last laugh and two games up on the Yankees instead of being tied.  Just get it out there and get the job done.

Any idea who's getting the bulk innings tonight? Walter, maybe?

Kluber might be back soon, but it'd be short inning stuff. He actually had a nice outing earlier in the week.

Once again Cora stuck again with another idiotic move in what was labeled as an "Opener".  A good first inning by Nick Robertson was wasted when he was not allowed to pitch a second inning so another of Cora's favorites Bernardino could go in and get hammered for five runs, five its and two walks, rendering this game as another lost cause.  In my opinion, firing Bloom was only half of the assignment the Red Sox must undertake.  CORA MUST GO; no way the team gets better with him still around.  He is a shell of his former solid self, the decay starting in Spring Training 2019 when he ran a ridiculous mickey mouse type clown show.  When the season opened the team got off to a miserable start and n ever caught fire.  We need a new skipper and we m ust get one, otherwise we'll be witnessing the same shoddy leadership of the past few years.

Schmidt pitched so so for the Yanks.  A story yesterday, at the deadline Bloom almost traded Verdugo, under protection, for two months of Schmidt.  He didn't know at the time that Wilyer Abreu could be the Verdugo fill in.

I did not like that Cora left him in there for so long. 37 pitches and he was obviously done at 30-32. I hope Bernardino is not injured because of this. Would not be the first pitcher kill of the year for AC.

I was quite surprised to see Walter not going further. He was well rested and handling these guys OK. He had big boys coming up, IIRC, but it doesn't matter. Give him the experience.

Speaking of that, the season is toast. Give the starter(Walter) the start. Why should it matter that he's saving him up for 4+ days for bulk innings or a starting date? It's one of the worst lineups in baseball. Would have done the kid some good to get a 90 pitch start under his belt going into the off season.

Verdugo is pressing again.
