How about you guys in the Red Sox dugout go out there and show some pride and win a friggin' game for a change.  Win despite having a horseshit manager who was complicit in our losing two games yesterday with some of the most pathetic managerial decisions I've seen in some time, the rotten filthy cheater.

This is really telling.  It gives stats in high leverage situations (you can look up the definition) and the numbers are horrifying when you look at the regression.  On the WRC+ stat the norm is 100.  Sox hitters were at a 22.

JD in the field again.  He looks bad and he can't watch video, makes him a net negative.  I guess Schwarber still needs more time but it's kind of now or never.

I think what is on the roster for the 21 Sox is not what Bloom envisions for the future of this franchise.  The above stats notwithstanding.  Bloom largely passed at the trade deadline was reason one, and he didn't want to risk "his plan".  Before the season the team was ranked at having the 20th farm system.  After the deadline, Boston is ranked 9th best along with the acquisition of prospects in four months.  It was said Cubs wanted both our #1 and #3 for Rizzo.

Getting one or two productive players to fill the dead spots in Sox lineup in order to continue the stretch drive was either a failure or a decision that it was too high a price to disrupt a farm still trying to mature.  And as of Aug 18 Schwarber is not a productive player yet.  Surely the Boston press will weigh what he did right or wrong all winter.

WTF The Red Sox pitchers are so afraid to pitch to these guys.  And why does Cora have JDM playing RF again .  His misplay of a fly ball cost the Sox two runs.

elktonnick

Bobby D sucks at 1st base defense.  Two misplays one by JDM and another by Dalbec really sunk Pivetta.  Then Cora has no one covering 2nd base so he gave up an easy steal of 2nd.   This team look demoralized poorly coached poor defensive lineup and playing about as sloppy as a team can play

BoSoxFanNY

Stunned beyond belief.
WTF has happened to this team?

Yankees will sweep this series.
Why didn't we get Anthony Rizzo?
He has helped them win at least 4 games.

Sox in third place . . .

The Yankees made up 10.5 games in 6 weeks.

Stunned, sad and so very disappointed . . .

BoSoxFanNY

Absolutely no fight in this team.
They are not even getting on base.

Seems like the closest chance they had to win a game
in this series was the first game . . .
Bases loaded, no outs = nothing.

THIS game, not getting any hits.

WTF????????????

They're toast. They'll be lucky to avoid ending the season in 4th place.

Any change for the future must begin with Alex Cora being disposed of as soon as the season is over.  Here's why.  One, he is a rotten filthy cheater who should never have been rehired as manager after he was first fired by  the Prune.  Secondly, he thinks he is the smartest guy in the room and is always telling everyone that if we stay the course we will be just fine, forgetting that is what he said in Spring Training 2019 when he ran a kiddle corps training camp and insisted that when the season got well underway the team would hit its stride.  It never did and we went from 108 regular season wins to 84 and just six above 500.  Thirdly, he never admitted that he was wrong in the way he handled his failing ST routine.  Fourth,  the guy plays favorites as much as that seems hard to fathom.  Look at the way he babied Marwin Gonzales, all the faith he bestowed on Danny Santana and how he played up Frenchy, now a three time loser with teams.  Last but not least, repeated again.....HE IS A FILTHY ROTTEN GODDAMN CHEATER WHOSE VERY PRESENCE IS A STIGMA ON THE WHOLE FRANCHISE.  Unless he is jettisoned and Bloom allowed to bring in his own man who we hope will not be engulfed with the hubris that Cora got after the 2018  season we will be talking the same shit about our team a year from now.

GET RID OF THAT BUM!!!!!!!!

Final score
Yankees 5 - Sox 2

IF Chapman had been on the mound in Game 1 or Game 2,
we might have had a chance to score.

SO MANY MISSED opportunities in the first two games.

How swiftly this team has lost its way.

I don't disagree.
HOW or WHY did the team seemingly play so well in the first half of the season?
Many were crediting Cora's return.  WTF has happened?
Was it never him?  Was it the players?

This was Bloom's Blunder in a microcosm.  The Sox needed a 1B, they got a DH who plays sometimes.  The Yankees got Rizzo.  So sure enough Dablbec misplays a ball and Rizzo knocks in 2.  Plus JDM should simply not be in RF, but I guess since nobody else can hit they have to find ways to get Plawecki's bat in the lineup (that last statement is the most telling, that he's currently their best hitter).

What a mess.

The sad thing was this game was over in the second inning as batter after batter was flummoxed by a really poor pitcher.
