JD Martinez comes back AND hits a home run.
3 run home runs by Alex Verdugo and Rafael Devers.
Bottom of the 5th inning
Sox 9 - Orioles 1

Sea Dog 23

Wow, the Sox brought their bats today.  Bombs by Verdugo and JDM.  Pivetta off to a solid start.

Schloicka

Thought Pivetta did a decent job overall. Got a little tired in the 6th.

SOX sweep the Orioles.
Sox 14 - Orioles 9
GOT a bit too close for comfort in the last
couple of innings ( can't tell by the score, but . . .)

JD Martinez hits 3 home runs.
Rafael Devers hits 2 home runs.

LOTS of offense.

6 wins in a row!

Can't complain about the last week of games my friends.  We made a strong  comeback from that terrible 0-3 start and have won six straight games.  Minnesota is next and they are formidable, especially when they don't have to play the Yankees who they suck against.  We'll get a real test the next week and learn more about how good our team might be.

Great stuff ....... As DAD would say , "SON, win April, May, June, July, August & then use September to get READY for the FALL CLASSIC" !!!!!  Fun to watch !!! thumb_u thumb_u rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl

The Baltimore series was a good study for Cora and Bush.  The bullpen has some steady eddies in Andriese, Whitlock and Sawamura improving.  But Cora saw the cracks out there displayed by Brice,  Valdez and Taylor.  Those guys are leftovers from 2020 and did not get replaced.  I think by the ASB we'll see more of Houck in mid-relief and spot starter.

Well that was a fun weekend.  Let's hope they can keep it rolling against the Twins who look pretty good.

I'm not sold on Andriese yet, not by a long shot.  His background is one of ineffective failure, but we can hope.  You are right, though, on the other two.  In fact, you made a very good point Sea Dog mentioning Brice, Valdez and Taylor as rotten leftovers from 2020.  We need to jettison every possible memory from the 2020 season and getting ride of those three would be a very good start because they need to go.

So far so good Ted but we need to play well against the Twins.  Going in there and winning this series would tell us more about what kind of team we really have so we shall see in the next three days.  The more we can move from 2020 the better all the guys on this board will feel.
