Barnes gets out of his own jam.

Funny inning. Ball never leaves the infield and they still managed to get 2 guys on. But he got out of it.

Johnson with the win. Did OK after the 1st inning. Team didn't quit after being down early. On to Saturday.

If the Sox win just 1/3 of their remaining games (.333), they'll hit 100 wins. The Yanks would have to win 24 of their 40 (.600) remaining to match the Sox. Yanks will probably hit that mark and have a 100+ win season, but there's no way the Sox are going to crater that badly at this point. Even at .500, they'll come out ahead of the Yanks.

If you told the Yankees at the beginning of the season they'd win 100 or 102 games, they would have thought they'd be walking away with the ALE title. Just shows how much of an amazing season this has been for the Sox.

Just a good, solid comeback W.  Johnson settled down and gave us time to get back in it.   And props to the pen is merited.

TB with a new pitcher already?

They did the bullpen start thing.  Really don't get why they do that, the next guy came in and threw for a while.

This was a gun game to watch.  They spot them 3 runs in the top of the first and then spend the rest of the game knocking in a run or two to win fairly easily.  In games like this it almost feels like they're playing with the other teams.  I'm amazed every night how this team just rolls on and wins all the time.  Meanwhile the Yankees game seemed to get cancelled awfully quickly with a small lead in the 7th.

Johnson had this trouble the last time, gave up runs early and then settled down and pitched nicely.  He works fast which will help him in the long run.
