Red Sox News / Re: Who will be CBO?
« Last post by SeaBeachFred on Today at 12:53:44 PM »
Sam Kennedy interviewed this morning (Thurs).  He goes on and on about "how important this move is and will go through the fall and winter to get the person we need."  I'm just flummoxed.  They should have some guidelines already in place by now, living through this miserable season.  By winter?  A lot of the progress in negotiations for FA's and trades will be done by that point.  What a disorganized bunch of nitwits who claim to know baseball.

Somebody in Boston, please throw me a lifeline.

Wouldn't do much good for Sam Kennedy.  He's be better served with a cigarette and a blindfold; then again I can't remember a bigger bunch of incompetent jackasses in any organization that what we have been subjected to with these yo yos running our team.

They're too busy planning Barbie night at Fenway.  I had to see that promo about 4 times before I believed it wasn't just a joke.  Way to signal priorities - we need Barbie night but we can wait until the season starts to build our team.

My wife reminded me of the game was on from work, but I looked at the score and saw 9-4 IIRC and passed. She did too, which is rare. She listens to the games through ear buds when she's at work during those getaway games. If she's not in meetings, she never misses. Until yesterday.

I chose the lawn over such perils.

Glad I didn't realize it was a day game.

Well I couldn't use that excuse Ted but I still decided to pass on the game since I knew what would most likely happen.  Today was proof positive that our team is wallowing in Shit City and only a major tear down of those in charge can rectify this farce.  Ball's in your court Prune Face;  err Prune Face, get the hell off your yacht and start looking like something other that a total buffoon.

In my opinion one of the most underestimated issues with Red Sox pitching is Cora.  He takes his starters out often too soon.  He takes too many relievers who are doing well out also too soon.  He has guys warming up who he never brings in.

I knew in June that the.way he was using the pen was going to exhaust bull pen come September.

It was that way last year too when he gassed out our bullpen, but the team never determined to strengthen their pitching, then blew it sky high when they didn't resign Wacha and let Eovaldi walk and tied their fortunes to over the hill bums like the Plue.  Any way you look at it the team will never be a serious contender until Cora is shown the door.  Not only is he a good handler of pitching staff but he is a rotten cheater besides who has made the Red Sox a haven for derelicts and incompetents.  Hey Henry, we will be talking about this the same time next year about this guy who you seem to love.  Only goes to show me  that you know shit about pitching, honesty and comptence.

So now down to 9 games left. Sox needs 6 wins to end the season at .500. Anyone think they'll win 6 out of 9?

Didn't think so.

Not to much of a stretch that the high A Greenville Drive could win half of those games.  They won the South Atlantic League this week.   This is not good for anyone that works at FSG.  They have really hit bottom, and everyone knows it.

They've had their moments for sure. Part of the problem was when the starters were going good the pen wasn't. Then the starters all broke down. The good news is they got some good performances out of Bello (not today), Whitlock, Houck and even Crawford.  They'll have to figure out if Pivetta remains a depth piece but if they didn't have old oft-injured guys at the "top" of the rotation they could be a force.
