Title: ALDS/. NLDS
Post by: Sea Dog 23 on October 11, 2022, 03:18:42 PM
The new Wildcard format put Houston and the Braves on the sideline for a week while Seattle and Phillies only had a two day layoff. The Yanks, and LA will also have to deal with the rust.  Alas the Sox could have been there if not for 8 untimely  losses.

The Mariners jumped Verlander for 3 in the 1st.Atlanta pitcher Fried and a reliever got smoked 7-1.  Braves have come back to make it 7-3 in the 8th.

One of the biggest comebacks in playoff history by Houston, from down 7-3 to win it.  The walkoff homer by Alvarez was a bomb, and was the only walk off  in playoff history with his team trailing by multiple runs.

Houston is a roadblock for all teams, as Sox found out in 2021.

Houston and Dusty have the MFY on cruise control, hitting and pitching.  A sweep in the ALCS.

It cost Aaron Boone his job. His mishandling of finding a SS who could hit, then plugging in OFs who are always bumbling and stumbling.  But I think the coup de gras, he had his chance to pull an ailing Cortez Sunday night, but left him out there to give up the 3-0 lead. Couldnt happen to a nicer guy. lol.

Yankees were absolutely humiliated, fun to watch.  Too bad it was the Astros!
