We're feeling very good now George but the whole gang here has to be feeling better by tomorrow evening and the only way to guarantee that is to hammer away at the Yankees as we have done the first two games and not let them get back at us. Heck, they had dominated us big time until this series started and it is high time to return the favor with a third beat down tomorrow.
IMO there's a few things going on this week with the good performances and the four wins. The team is reaching down and found there competitive spirit that was there all along, but missing part of the year. Playing the Yanks will inspire them more than the coaches. Also several players are coming up on free agency. Porcello, JBJ, JDM, Moreland need to show value in the next month or so if they expect good deals. Those things should be a win-win for all the Sox.
Also it seems several players are getting healthy at the right time for a stretch run.

A very god piece of news to get our day started. Now let's continue this into the evening with a big win t
Different game today. Chavis got screwed on the out call at 2B.
JD with a 2-run dinger. Sox up 3-2.
Chavis with an RBI single. Sox up 4-2 now.
CC is pitching a lot more efficiently. Bottom of the 5th and just now hitting 60 pitches. E-Rod is almost at 100.
Boone pulling CC at 65 pitches. Sox up 5-3.
Holt with a PH sac fly. Sox now up 6-3.
JBJ with a triple. 7-3.
Mookie with a sac fly. Now 8-3.
Barnes does good. Sox still up 8-3.
Travis with an RBI blooper. Now 9-3.
Let's see what Eovaldi has today.
Enjoyable series so far but let’s see what the “no lead is safe†bullpen can deliver.
Eovaldi gets a K. Now close it out.

No such luck. He has the gas but not making pitches.
Damn. Long battle ends poorly for Eovaldi. Now 9-5.
Whew. Finally.
Finally got out of the inning. Even with a 4 run lead I’d bring in our closer. Oh, wait.
Chance to move into 2nd place in the ALE here. Hope they don't blow this.
Sweet. Sox in 2nd place. I have to say I'm pleasantly shocked they're doing this well against the Yanks.
Eovaldi for now doesn't have anything . Keep him away from good hitting teams.Workman and no one else should be in the 9th.

RSN feels the same. Now our so called extended ACE is up for the finally.
Eovaldi reminds me of Sale. He has his speed but not his command. He'd get behind and then just deal fastballs which were getting a lot of the plate so guys were sitting on it. That was a lot of work.
Surprised and happy to see them playing this well overall though. One more and then back to taking to Tampa.
Three in a row mean that we have won the series and go for a sweep tomorrow. No one can feel unhappy tonight. First of all Papi got out of the hospital and then we put a beat down on the Yankees again. Well hell, they were pushing us around earlier so it was our turn to give them some of their own medicine. The only problem is that I still get very nervous those last two or three innings. Today Eovaldi made it closer than I would have liked, but something unique also occurred and bet none of you can get it. I can because I have been watching for it to see if it would ever happen this season. One of our relievers actually got two holds in the ninth inning for two days in a row Brandon Workman. They were not closer types but we navigated through the ninth yesterday and today and stopped what could have been a Yankee uprising.
Just FYI, Craig Kmbrel came into the game for the Cubs with a one run lead in the bottom of the tenth frame and gave up a game tying homer and then a two run blast that sent down my favorite National League team. Goes to show you that relief pitchers this year have had a lot of trouble all around baseball.
Workman may not be a closer but he is the only one who has the temperament to close. Barnes doesn't. Eovoldi simply hasn't had enough time facing live MLB hitters to be put in a closer's position. He was just missing yesterday. Given enough opportunities to pitch he just be fine in a week or so.
Keep in mind, EVOLDI is still in SPRING TRAINING !!!! He & HERNANDEZ will make a BIG difference !!!!! GO SOX !! thumb_u rofl rofl rofl
BEFORE this series began - the Yankees were on a tear.
I was hoping that we would split the series -
this team has far exceeded my expectations!
Our offense is finally showing their 2018 World Series form.
KEEP IT GOING!
