Rick Porcello opening tomorrow four game series against the slugging Yankees. Yea that Porcello. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My big fear is that the Yanks are going to abuse the Sox like they did in London. If the Yanks sweep or even take 3 of the 4 games, the season is over for the Sox.
Home at last, HOME AT LAST...… The HOT DOGS always taste better at the FENS !!!! rofl rofl

If they sweep, yes. I think this 14 game stretch is one where they need to win 10 of the 14 to make a difference. They've won 2 and lost 1 so kind of on pace. Still, at this point I think I'd be happy if the manage not to embarrass themselves like they did in London.

Dombrowski on @WEEI re: Red Sox at trade deadline: ‘There’s not a lot of needs ... I’m not sure how much we would buy. ... We’ll sit back and see what happens.’
This should be fun.
No, not a lot of needs, but certainly a few critical needs.

I've already got the shakes markj knowing Porcello is going out there to start this critical and crucial four game series for us. I know what the Yankees are thinking....to wit, it was almost one week short of a year ago when our season cratered when those bastards from Boston waylaid our season. Revenge is sweet and it is our turn to get them good and that means a four game sweep. I just wonder if our team has the heart, guts, balls and courage to meet them on our turf and batter the hell out of them and let them know....NOT ON MY FIELD YOU DON'T. Unfortunately we have seen little of that kind of fight from our team this season and would be the right time to start showing some of that.
Well they certainly showed them tonight how by doing what I dreamed they might do........batter the hell out of them. More on that on another post when I let everyone I made a fool of myself with my rash prediction. Glad to have been so wrong, even to the point of being ridiculous.

Sounds to me as if he is letting us fans know if he does bring in someone it's not going to be a difference-maker.Another Cashner type SP or RP.
Landsdown st bomb by Mookie.3 zip early
Hell of a shot by Bogey. The only question when that left Tanaka’s hand was how far he was going to hit it.
That statement by Dombrowski is mind-boggling. Maybe he’s spending too much time on his phone at the games and not actually watching them.
Jackie clutch 2 out 0-2 count 2 run 2b.
Mookie 2b drives in 2. 7 zip
7 run 1st and few Sox fans feel safe with Porcello on the hill.
Pirelli is driving me crazy.
Porcello is not effective with the high strike but he refuses to keep the ball down.

And he’s demonstrating why. This guy is awful and now it looks like he’s going to go down the toilet.
Sox offense comes out happy about their scoring.
Porcello says “hold my beerâ€.
Not many swing and misses with Porcello pitching
Porcello has got to rethink his approach towards pitching these guys .
WOW, he comes back 1-2-3. Didn`t see that coming.
STUPID MOVE BY HOLT ON A CALLED STRIKE WHICH IT WAS.
Long fly ball out to the triangle would be a 3 run HR at the stadium.

Agreed. Can't afford to be losing players for something piddly like arguing strike calls. Especially when they're that close.
Raffy goes deep for a solo dinger. 8-2.
Raffy # 20 ..Seems like every ball he hits is on the screws.
Chavis with an RBI double. 9-2.
Moreland joins the fun and makes it 11-2 with a 2b.
Need more. Can't trust Porcello or the BP.
Vaz won`t be denied some fun .12-2

So true.
With Paxton vs Cashner, this needs to continue the Sox way. Little hope for Cashner to do much.
Tanks hit one of Porcello's high fast balls for homer
Despite the homer, Porcello settled down nicely after the close to 50 pitch 2nd.
Amazing who would have thought Porcello would have made it through 5 after that 2nd
Chavis drives in another. This will be it for the Sox scoring for this series.
Still more runs. 16-3. Lots of game left.
Good to see the kid getting some work.Would like to see him in a high leverage situation down the road before getting giddy over him as some fans have a tendency to do.
Even Leon gets in on the action with a 2-run dinger. This is ridiculous. It's nice to see revenge for the London debacle, but I'm thinking they won't score another run in the next 3 games.
FUN, high scoring for the Sox - NO DRAMA game.
(Must say that the second inning made me very nervous
even with a 7 - 0 lead.)
18 - 3 in the bottom of the 8th inning.

Agree. Hope they have more scoring in them over the weekend.
19 - 3 now in the bottom of the 8th inning.
Every day player pitching for the Yankees though.
Done. Serious rout. We'll see if they can produce runs in the next 3 games.

Yup!
GOOD to win the first game.
Sox rout the Yankees 19 - 3.
Pitching favors the Yankees tomorrow night.
Hoping for at least a split against the Yankees.
Grand total of 72 runs in the last 3 games between these two teams. That's unreal.
To say I was surprised and shocked that we battered Tanaka for seven big tallies in the first inning is the understatement of the month but Porcella was his usual self in the second throwing over 50 pitches so it seemed which made me yell that we needed about five more runs at least and, hell, we got them in the fourth. That made me breath easier and felt that this game had to be ours and that Porcello would be gone in an inning or two and even our relievers couldn't blow a ten run lead. Well it was good to be wrong even if I made a fool of myself telling everone we were in serious shit before the game. Well that's baseball. I guess you never know. I would like to win at least one more.
WHAT A GAME ……. As DAD would say, "SON, ICE CREAM for ALL" !!! Keep your eye on HERNANDEZ & EVOLDI, only going to get BETTER & BETTER !!! Take it ONE GAME at a time, but this could be a FUN STRETCH !!! thumb_u thumb_u rofl rofl rofl rofl
Well that was fun! Let's hope the fun continues. I, like everyone else, was shocked that Porcello a) made it out of that inning without giving up more and b) went 6 innings. Everyone had a hit in the lineup including replacements, other than Travis who had one at bat. That was a good old-fashioned rout. One of very few games where the outcome was settled fairly early in a positive way for the Sox.
Hard to get too excited because we know that offense can disappear and that the pitching can go bad in a heartbeat.

That's right Ted because it has disappeared so many times before during this season, and so far Cashner has proven that he cannot compete for a team bent on winning. It is one thing to pitch with no pressure for a last place team like Baltimore but to toe the rubber for team trying to get to the post-season to try and defend their title takes a tougher type of person and so far the Casher has been very short of that kind of person. We cannot afford to let up and have another drab game following a winning blowout. We have to take it to the Yankees and bludgeon them as they have done to us all season until last night. And I get tired of saying these things. You would think the Red Sox themselves would have awakened to the fact that they have been too consistent on laying down after an impressive win. Man that has to stop this series.
