Notice Alfred E. Newman Cora finally threw in the towel and decided to put Mookie Betts back at the lead off spot, but didn't have the guts or courage to say that he may have made a mistake. Well I'll tell you Cora, you DID MAKE A MISTAKE; IN FACT IT WAS A BLUNDER CHANGING THE FIRST TWO BATTERS AS YOU DID. Get this, Benintendi led off a game and was 3-40 in that role; a sickening 092 average and all Cora could say was that he was rolling with this new alignment for awhile. Listen you shit, show some guts and admit you made a bad mistake changing them around in the first place. You do NOT play around with success and remember you're not the smartest man in the room when you make a crucial blunder like that. Ican't stand idt when a person will not admit he was wrong about something. Francona in his last three years was that way, and Farrell was notorious for that. What is about Red Sox managers that allow them to fall of the tracks?
I think we all are looking at 2018 especially his .346 BA which he probably will not come close to again. His stats from the #2 hole are pretty damn good. Hitting .318 with 8 hr and 24 rbis in 45 games batting 2nd translate into close minus the BA as all his other stats.
1-12 in the Yankees series from the 1 hole.
Three warning track shots. Nothing to show for it except an easy inning for the KC pitcher.
The Noffense is back.
Let's see if they can get JD home without a GIDP to ruin it.
Good. Sac fly ties the game.
Holt with an RBI double to put the Sox up 3-2.
Anyone notice what a solid 3rd base Devers is playing. If he continues to play solid defense with his hitting he could be a gold glove contender.
Nunez with a surprise 3-run dinger. Sox up 6-3.
Raffy with a 2-RBI double. Sox up 8-2 in the 9th. Should be enough.
Brasier gives up a run, but closes it out. Sox win 8-3.
SOX BEAT the Royals 8 - 3.
Yankees AND Rays lost tonight.
Nice win. On to Wednesday.

I guess it's only the 2 of us that see he has turned the corner on his defense. I mentioned in a post about a week ago that he had not made an error since May 2. Now
28 games of very
SOLID DEFENSE.
On another note, Mookie now 2-16 since being put back in the leadoff spot. Looks like he is just having a terrible year so far and not where he bats. Yesterday I posted he is hitting
.318 batting 2nd .

I've been thinking the same thing about Devers. I think he's learned to take his time and not rush so many things. He still makes a throw or two that he probably should keep but he isn't sailing those throws either. He's always had a strong arm and that can help him a lot when he focuses on seeing the ball into the glove.
Nice win last night. Fred, Cora didn't apologize but he did say he saw it wasn't working and made the move for the rest of the season. He's not the first manager to try to move Betts. But Betts has still done nothing. I'm actually surprised Cora didn't give him a day off after the off day. He reminds me of JBJ at the plate some times, but the worst thing is he is always squinting when he gets up to bat. Like Bradley, I wouldn't be surprised he needs glasses.
