A bizarre year for Keuchel. 2-8,  8.84 era, 39 k/28 bb in 56 IP.  I think Rangers are his third team this year.

Happy to see Wong in the lineup and hope he doesn't suffer The Curse of the 2022 Red Sox Rookies.  No Franchy or Dalbec in the lineup, they may actually be trying to win again!

If they really cared about winning they would of traded JD for anything they could of gotten. He's pretty reliable when it comes hitting into a double play.

Go out for a walk with Wifey when it's 2-1 and come back to 6-1. Now 7-1. Sweet.

longgame

Nice to have a lineup without several guys who strike out more than anything else.

Brasier warming in the BP. Sox need to score 3 or 4 more runs before he takes the mound.

Connor Wong with a dinger!!! How sweet is that?

Was hitting HR's in AAA. Glad he brought the HR stroke with him.

Now let's give Connor a real chance to show what he can do.  Apparently he has shown in the minors that he has power and to me if he can make the grade for us it would take a little bit of the sting out of that trade of Mookie in early 2020.  We got Verdugo and Connor could make it a somewhat acceptable trade under the circumstances since Jeter Downs looks like a sunk cost as a waste as a player.

Wong absolutely crushed that ball. 439 feet! He doesn’t look like a big guy, in fact he doesn’t look like a catcher but it’s hard to tell his game craft.  But man does he have some pop.

I think Wong came up through high school as an "athlete", played both 3B and catch.  Not sure which came first.  Our #2 draft pick Cutter Coffey has been a SS and pitcher at his high school.  In fact Bloom may have drafted 5-6 SS the last three years!

The prevailing wisdom is that in high school the best baseball player either pitches or plays short.  Bloom obviously favors versatile athletes.  Again its his Swiss Army Knife over an excellent Bowie Knife.   I suspect a few of these draft choices will be tried at virtually every position.
