For the first time in this crucial series BOTH teams have front line starters going for them, for us the first.  Doesn't mean much unless our team hits, hits in the clutch, and we get a very good job from Nick Pivetta.  He has thrown some very good games and a couple of clunkers as well.  We cannot afford a clunker, not with Brasier in the bullpen anxious to show off his ability to hit bats and duck for cover.  I would also like to see Bogaerts show some clutch hitting in the later innings for a change.  He's fooled a lot of people but not me.  That was a good win yesterday but as they always say the next day, you're only as good as your next starting pitcher---which for us in Pivetta.  We can win today if the team brings its "A" attitude and plays the Yankees as tough as any team has played them this season.  Taillon is no slug and has come back from a mediocre 2021 to pitch very well for the Yankees.  We need to get to him and tattoo the guy.

Really need a well pitched game out of Pivetta and like you said hopefully we can be patient and get to Taillon.  Any word on Devers?

Red Sox/Yankees Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN. Never a good thing.

Orioles look good for winning their 8th straight game. They may even go above .500 for the first time in eons, it seems.

Sea Dog 23

Are the Rays gonna get swept by Cinci?  Down 10-2 today in the 6th.

markj

Orioles won their 8th in a row. 1 game under .500. Could we see the Jays replace the O's in the basement soon?

longgame

Pivetta doesn’t come through with the outing they needed.  We’ll see if the bats wake up.

longgame

In spite of the Aaron Judge Fan Club calling the game, the Sox have managed to tie this up with a HR by JDM.  Keep hammering boys.

markj

Somehow Dalbec manages to K without a single ball entering the strike zone. If he had just stood there with the bat on his shoulder, the Sox would be ahead now.

markj

At least they got a gift run on yet another error by LeMahieu.

markj

Then Vaz K's swinging at a pitch that nearly hit his ankle. WTF? Chapman couldn't find the strike zone with a seeing eye dog. All they had to do was stand there and let him walk in runs.

Is there anything better than watching Yankees Managers, players and fans slighted? No sirree!!! This is still awesome. They're still whining about it. they still are!

markj

Again, bases loaded, no outs. Can't keep blowing these chances. Gotta score here.
