Perez is mentally not in a place to pitch in the major leagues.

Cora seemed pissed when he went out to pull Perez.  Then again he could have been irked by the strike zone and the ump.

Anyway,  reports after the game talked about a “confrontation” with Perez in the locker room.  The Boston press will be on that.

Kennedy has to be thinking whether Bloom is the right guy to make another trade or sign FA’s. Since July this guy has been out to lunch. Bad move after bad move if you’re stacking him up against the Rangers or Pirates, but he’s managing in the fricking ALEast.

Well he left Tampa Bay and they were very active at the trade deadline.  I think they made a huge miscalculation all around and if it were Tampa Bay nobody would care.  But this may be one of the biggest blunders in terms of non-moves of all time if they continue the downward spiral and Sale and Schwarber turn up to be too little, too late.  Just can't believe that they pretty much pulled the rug out from under the team as they had been battling all season.

Ted, if you'll jog your memory back 15 years the Red Sox did the same dance in 2006 when they were neck and neck with the Yankees and decided to do nothing to improve the ball club.  The team then went into a steep decline topped off by a five game sweep at the hand of the Yankees---AT FENWAY PARK.  In the meantime the Yankees traded for Bobby Abreu and some other decent players and ran away with the AL East.  Henry was reduced to making inane remarks about trying to keep to a budget but the press hammered him viciously.  That fall the team signed JD Drew, then a top notch player and Julio Lugo, up to that time a decent SS and not a bad hitter at all.   Then  they went all out and signed Japanese sensation Dice K Matsuzaka and in 2007 won the World Series.  The problem is that is the only comparison that team has with our current one because as sure as God made little green apples Prune Face will not buckle this fall.  First of all he owns the Boston Globe and the writers who cover the team from that paper know that if they rip the prune they could be out in the street, but the o ther papers in New England had better be ready to sharpen their swords because only a verbal and vicious attack on Henry repeatedly will move him to open his filthy rotten wallet and start spending money to build our team back up.  In the meantime there must be a housecleaning of bums like Marwin, Martin, Garrett, and some of the other crumbs who have disgraced themselves and their team this season.

Yep, in 2007 John Henry still spent money on the team.  Now he's "frugal".  I said on Twitter the other day, I can't wait to see who Bloom doesn't sign in the offseason.
