Somehow, some way they got it done tonight.  The Mookie Show and JBJ with a big hit.  Let's go for the next prize: best record in the AL.  Home field could be big if we end up seeing Houston in the ALCS.

Very important for Alex to know that there is more at stake in our last nine games than some may believe.  We want home field advantage and if possible we would like to take care of the Yankees the last weekend of the season and try to help force them to go to Oakland for the do or die WC Game.

Been traveling in Europe, haven't been able to watch games. Great win.

Exactly, they can help themselves in the postseason by winning now.  Still good time to rest some guys for a day or two at a time, but I don't want to see Spring Training lineups either.  They've got 5 days from that last NY game until the first game of the ALDS during which they'll have plenty of rest.  Keep them sharp.

They need a couple of wins to secure home field advantage, but once they have those wins it's a question of keeping guys sharp or doing everything you can to avoid injuries.

Absolutely Ted---and you only have to look back two seasons to see the wisdom of your remarks.   We won the AL East with a week to spare and Farrell pissed all away with his tinkering and ST type lineups.  The result is we went in to the ALDS against Cleveland flatter than a pancake.   The result was three and out.  You don't lose six of your last seven games in regular season play and expect to be ready and primed for  the post season.  Last year the team just seemed out of sorts and were lucky to even win the AL East since the team lacked unity and leadership all across the board from the field to the dugout to the clubhouse.  We have nine games left and we need to win four or five of them, especially against the Yankees and Indians who we could play in the playoffs.
