No word yet on whether this game will be played or not.
I'll be checking. I've seen nothing yet, but they probably are doing testing this morning.
ESPN reports that the Red Sox and Yankees will play tonight and the rest of the series.
I'm a little surprised they didn't push the rotation back a turn. Wasn't E-Rod supposed to pitch yesterday?

Why is Martin Perez pitching in the opener of this crucial series with New York? His ERA against them in 2019 was over nine and a half while we have a pitcher named Nathan who seems to pitch his best against his former team. Besides, Eovaldi did pitch an inning in the AS Game so he has had his "mid rotation warmup while Perez and E-Dud have not. Once again Cora is trying to act like the smartest man in the room by this stupid selection of a pitcher who has had miserable failure against the Yanks. I hope I am very very wrong but I have some very bad feelings about tonight. Please gods of fate let me be very wrong.
Note the change to E-Rod as tonight's pitcher.

Saw that. Let's hope he's got his good stuff.
Judge is out on the Covid IL I guess as its for 10 days.
judge and Urshela will miss this series as well as the return series in Boston next week if there update is right.
This is all so disappointing on many levels. I don't wanna beat their bench. I wanna beat their best. I wanna see Duran make his first start. I DO NOT want to see games directly affected by Covid again. Or more affected? Ya'll know what I mean.
To make room for Duran and Houck on the roster, they put Marwin on the IL and sent Santana down to Worchester on an "injury rehab assignment".
Arroyo making a statement! Nice!
Nice start. E-Rod needs to pitch like he has a lead!
Dalbec needs to learn to catch a baseball.
So, um, ...... OK, so why did Cora think Houck was ready for relief pitching in the Yankees series after his not so good most rcent start? I hope I'm wrong. MLB hitters are coming up now.
phew!
Sox win again. Fine showing by Houck. E-Rod was on tonight as well.
Nice win. No dramatics. Pitching was very good. Like these types of games.
Rats. The Rays have the lead in the 10th.
Rays win. No gain tonight.

I was disappointed when Houck was the odd man out this Spring before being injured. I'm glad he's back. I didn't like the idea of him jumping straight into the fire after a bad outing. He looked shaky and physically nerved up in the 7th, but came back somewhat calmer in the 8th. Nice! What I thought was a risky move pays off big time in the short and long term.
E-Rod with the Dr Seuss Whoville beard gone. Never seen him do that before. Far more importantly, I thought he pitched a good game. I was surprised to see him with 96 pitches when he was facing Stanton in the 6th. I thought this looked like one of those 7-inning starts.

Well Houck came through when it counted and we got ourselves a very nice win last night against our main rivals. Good way to start after the ASB. Let's please keep it up. Remember we won the first game of the recent series with both the Angels and Phillies and then dropped the next two. We have to end that fast because the Rays are breathing down our necks and we must take initiative and start playing consistent winning baseball again and you do that by winning those series. Let's start doing that again. We can you know!!!!
