This could be a wild mess depending on how these games turn out. The short answer for the Sox is, win today and be done with it.

Pitching today is prospect Joan. No he is not Joan of Arc. sigh Most time this year in A ball. He did pitch a couple games at AA and one AAA. His MLB debut I think.
The Nats pitcher yesterday, Gray, was part of what they got from the Dodgers for Scherzer and Turner. So he was highly valued and had a great game yesterday.

MORE REASON THAT THE SOX NEED TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS !!! DON'T BLOW IT BOYS !!!! IT HAS BEEN A WILD RIDE !! thumb_u thumb_u rofl rofl rofl rofl
Not sure how the Sox will handle the Jays or the Rays if they can't get clutch hits against an A ball pitcher. But we do have Sale today.
Hernandez looked like crap against a minor league pitcher. Totally baffled.
Sox sleeping through this game too. An unaccomplished minor leaguers is mowing them down.
WAKE UP!
The Mariners starter has been clocked for 4 runs by LAA. The Jays appear on the way, having knocked out the O's starter.
Remind me again which one of these pitchers is the ace and which is the minor leaguer?
Sale is getting squeezed pretty hard.

Nice walk with the bases loaded by Sale.
Who does Cora think he has in that bullpen that is better than Chris Sale.
Our "ace" just walked in a freakin' run and is done for the day. Outperformed by a minor leaguer. Pitiful.
I was going to make a joke that Cora was going to pull Sale. Can’t believe he did. No wonder our bullpen is toast.
Sawamura to the rescue.
Raffy with a solo (of course) dinger.
JD looks like he's just going through the motions until his Tee Time comes up next week.
WTF, Verdugo?!? Does this team have any idea at all how to play baseball??
And then Renfroe looks like a dufus at the plate swinging at dirtballs. I swear this team wants the season over as soon as possible. Like they all have a giant attitude problem.
Bogaerts strands runners on 2nd and 3rd to end the threat. Mr. Clutch.
I think the Sox problem is they know the Yankees are ahead, either in a play-in the, wild card, or whatever combination. After the slide in the last two series with NYY, they know they have no mojo left to play them again. Just my $.02 today. iono

If it comes down to a tie breaker, the Yanks have already decided to play the Sox at Fenway rather than face the Jays in Toronto. They know they can beat this team anywhere now.
Richards and Vaz putting on a comedy show now. This game is going to get out of hand very quickly.
Game over. Bunch of losers.
The Cy Adon is still mowing down the Sox.
Adon finally gets pulled. Maybe the Sox can do something with the two base runners now. There is one out, so a GIDP is the most likely scenario with this group.
Sox eke out a run, but leave 2 on. Shaw is useless as a pinch hitter.
Tied up 5-5.
Went for a walk and came back to a tied game. How about that.
Yanks beat the Rays 1-0. So they're in.
E-Rod with a 1-2-3 eight pitch inning. Nice.
They have the guys coming up who technically should be able to do something. Can’t get the Nats get into a walk off position.
Meanwhile we should get Davey Martinez as manager who gets this no name players motivated in last place on day 162.
Mr. Clutch K's again.
Yes! Raffy with the two run shot!
Yeah, Raffy!!! That's what we needed. Now hopefully Cora sends E-Rod back out.
He’ll do something reminiscent of 1986 and think that Barnes deserves to be on the field or something.
As Raffy was coming to the plate the Nats announcer said "Here comes that man again." Oh yeah. Mr Ortiz meet your heir apparent.

I'm worried he might do something that stupid.
Showtime. Close this out quickly, please. No drama.
He did do something that stupid. Why not E-Rod again?

Watching the same and thinking the same. He could become Little Papi.
Eck trying to jinx things.
Wow, they did it. Top WC slot.
Wow they hung on!
Man, they bailed their Manager out big time. Holy smokes.
Two of the hottest teams in the AL are out of it. The Jays ought to have a year next year. Hopefully Eovaldi can have him a big game. We'll need it.
This blackout crap down here for Baltimore and Washington games had better end this year as those TV deals get renegotiated. If not, I'm going VPN'ing next season. I had no idea how much the radio guys bitch, though. I thought I was bad. LOL Listening to the radio broadcast with the MLB channel on showing bits and pieces of games is for the birds.
Really good to see some grit right there. But I know I was down on the Sox a couple times in this series. But I forgot, this is the team they’ve been all year. 23 or more times. The comeback kids!
I don’t know what Cora’s plan was, I dare pretend to know, but he may have been saving some of Sale and ERod to pitch again in the wild card with the early hooks. Eovaldi to start then some of ERod more likely than Sale. Also we have some of the better bullpen guys for Monday that we didn’t use today. Either way both teams are going to have tired arms the next day and going into the ALDS.
I was thinking, too, that there is a small silver lining to consider with JD's little trip over the 2b bag. This makes things a little bit more consistent in the field. Steady OF, 1B, 2b and DH with Verdugo, Kike, Renfroe, Dalbec, Arroyo and Shwarber. Of course the genius may screw that up with Santana or something...
Does that mean Aurauz/Lopez as primary IF backup? Someone needs to shelter Arroyo from harm big time. Pillows, energy force fields, etc. Well, at least for one game.
Our BOSTON RED SOX finished the season 92 -70.
NOT BAD!
And going to the Postseason Wild Card game as the
#1 Wild Card seed.
Entertaining season - frustrating at times and remarkable at other times.
Let's hope that our Sox beat the Yankees . . .

I used UZZU TV all year. Never missed a game. As a matter of fact my account is shared by 3 different people in 3 different states. https://uzzu.tv/

I trade JD if he doesn't opt out and put Schwarber in at full time DH. Bring Iggy back as the utility guy or full time 2nd baseman if Arroyo can't stay healthy. Look for an upgrade at catcher.

Alas, Iggy cannot play postseason, but our nemesis Lemahiuex was just put on the IL. Our future 2nd baseman is Yorke, but he will not see Boston until 2023/24 at the earliest. I think in the offseason Bloom goes heavy after Semien to play 2nd/SS/3B.
I saw a likely list of roster players for the Wild Card game, missing Sale, having pitched Sunday and JDM, questionable after he was attacked by the second base bag. iono
Outfield - Verdugo, Kiké and Renfro
Infield - Devers, Xander, Arroyo, Dalbec
Catcher - Vazquez
DH - Schwarber or JD (depending upon his health)
Primary relief from Whitlock, Brasier, Barnes, Ottavino, Robles, ERod and Pivetta

Thanks for this! Pretty cool.I need to get a device as I bought a TV(LG) with poor support for players. Plenty of affordable options. I've got no clue which type to get, but I do have a 28 year old son. thumb_u
How long have they been around? I search for options every Spring and find very little.

I didn't know there was a mutual option on Schwarber until now. Think he'll stick around for an $11M option? Probably a better question to ask after we know what JD is going to do. With either of them, their whole world is about to change as we are likely to see the DH in the NL. I also believe that the recent changes in roster/pitching management could mean more teams going back to stronger, permanant DH's.

These are very good points Mongo. There is always the fear that Cora may try to act like the genius in the room again and give his pals Lopez and Santana ashot at fame and hope they make out well so he can claim credit and make himself look like a genius instead of the horse's ass he has been portrayed as the past two months. For some reasonCora has not been enamored of Arroyo all season, often benching him after a good game for his former pet Gonzales, who BTW, never seemed to get into games when he was picked up by the Astros. The proposed lineup you mentioned was the best we could put out there taking into consideration offense, defense, speed and experience.
Fred, Lopez or Santana won't be on the postseason roster.
