No one mentioned but Brock Holt looked to be back to his old self after battling vertigo.  Outstanding assist and on base 3 times.

Be between Holt and Beni to see who stays in the lineup. When Pedroia gets back it will be interesting to see who plays where. Could see Nunez go to LF if Xman stays in the lineup or some combination of Hanley at 1st and Nunez at DH.

The Bogaerts crap is getting very annoying.

Well sometimes Rob the truth hurts----and it is the truth.  He is the guy I want up least when I want a clutch hit in a tough situation and if you haven't realized it by or simply don't want to that is your problem, but, again it is the truth.  OTOH, Fister surprised everybody tonight and gave us seven terrific inning and pitched into the eighth and even Workman did a good job finishing up.  They aren't Sonny Gray but tonight  they were just as good as he would have been.  Devers may just be who we need.  What about Pedroia?  When are we getting him back?  We do need him too.

Xman saves Fisters bad throw to 2nd to get the force there. Averted a possible big inning. Fister doing well through 6.

Yes Schloik, I should have mentioned that.  It was a very good play.  Nice job on that one Xander.  Now will you start hitting again?

I love the spot on commentary tonight. Half an inning about tomorrow's pitcher and not a damned thing about what is different about Fister as compared to his previous starts with Boston. Maybe some more boxing references.

I am usually quite patient, but these two are driving me nuts tonight. No, not patient like being able to listen to ESPN Sunday light Baseball trio, but patient enough.

On fister, I see his curve ball finishing tonight and the spinners getting hit into mitts. Nice combo.

Well they aren't as irritating when the Red Sox are winning.

I've not figured out what makes Bett's swing not work, but after watching tonight, it looks like his swing shrunk overnight. Triceps in tight type of feeling instead of big swings. It's kind of surprising how much quicker and 'torquier' that feels.

To me, it is great to see Vasquez going the other way again this weekend. He got that home run a month ago and got all big eyed with the rest of the team.

XB made two good plays an got lucky with that tag on the throw by Holt. Was it me, or did he look calmer in the box tonight?

I was wrong about Fister, very happy that I was.
Pedey may be headed to the DL unless things change.

What exactly is bothering Pedroia this time around?  Is it the knee that he hurt when that Oriole ran into him?  We really need him back as soon as possible.

The longer the swing, the more that can go wrong with it.  A shorter, more compact swing is always better for more force with less effort.  One more thing.  Today we see many players lifting the ball and uppercutting.  I have never liked that unless the guy had big time power.  Most of our guys need to hit down on the high pitches for more line drive alley shots.  You look at two of the greatest hitters in baseball history-----Lou Gehrig and Henry Aaron and they actually hit down on the ball from belt high up---and the fact is you can hit with power that way too.  Too many our guys are trying to be Chris Bryant and Mike Trout and we don't have any guys like that on our team.

I have fallen into an alternate universe where Doug Fister is really Billy Chappel. How can I get home? Any time travelers or parallel shifters on this board?

;D Things can go upside down for a day.  Hey, Bucky Flippin' Dent, right?

As  I said when he got here, I like Fister & his sinkerball as he look like the pitcher that we thought he was....  That said, I also liked that lineup last night...... Now is the time to drop Mookie back to the  3 slot and Nunez leading off ......  That DEVERS can flat out swing a bat !! thumb_u rofl

Truth does hurt but every damn day post after post. Everyone  here gets your point.Try to leave it alone for a while you just may ENJOY your DAY a bit better.Same for FARRELL. No one really likes what he does with the lineup but moving up Devers and Nunez batting 3rd worked yesterday. In sports the wins are great and the losses suck but there will always  another day to root for the Sox.
Devers is a stud with the BAT but there will be a LOT OF ERRORS also coming for the next 3-5 years .It took Boggs about the same amount of time to get his body to adjust to what is needed to be a good defensive player. So be ready for the bad D the same as the great bat at from him.

Bashing one player day in day out is not IMO playing GM.

He doesn't get his arms extended, it's all short swings and he can't get behind the ball.  I haven't watched close enough to see if he's just biting on too many inside pitches or what, but the're keeping his arms in.

I just posted that I think it's the opposite with Betts.  XB seems to be the one who has had the long loping swing, like a golf swing.
