I'm disgusted and that is all I'm going to say.  Now when the hell do we get our team back on the field?

Ditto. And now Beni's got the flu and is likely to miss the next few games.

How the hell do they let this happen?

This isn't the way any of us wanted the season to start.

Well folks.  On the bright side it's just the flu so it's not like the 60 day-DL.  Hopefully we'll have a full lineup by early next week.

I've been sick as a dog since Wednesday. Also with flu-like symptoms. I had a flu shot, too. Seems there is another strain going around. I'm not even in MA, but Wifey was sick last weekend and this weekend I have it. Sometimes there's not much you can do to avoid it.

Ugh, I hate the flu. It just puts you out of commission for 4-5 days.  Feel better, mark.

E-Rod gives up another hit. Poor base running gets Kinzler, but not before a run comes in. Sox down 4-1. E-Rod is cratering this inning. After an opening K, he gave up a solo homer, double, wild pitch, another double, and a single. And he's still pitching.
E-Rod is slipping from my good graces, tired of waiting for this potential as I think that his head is not  M L B ......

A new strain of flu?  That is amazing, even more so since it seems only our team has been struck down so badly by it.  We need to shit can this setback within the next couple of days.

That's what pitching coaches are for.  We the hell do we still fail to improve our pitchers, develop our own closers and middle relief specialists, and even develop some decent starting pitchers?  Something is out of whack somewhere.  I could also mention our fantastic ability to trade for relievers who are crippled, maimed and just screwed up one way or another.  It's a real pisser if you ask me.  Well, even if you don't ask me, I'll say so anyway/

Even OB had it. Must be pretty virulent to just get it by walking around the clubhouse. The Globe had an article about it making its way through Boston in the general population, so it isn't just the Sox.

Several of my neighbors down here in Delaware have it also.  A doctor told my neighbor that there are two strains that hit late and this year's flu shot is ineffective against either strain.

My doctor told me the opposite.  The flu strains were mild and well covered by this year's shots.  They had noted they had seen very few flu cases this year (this was about 2 weeks ago).  Of course that may be the case here in NC and it's different elsewhere.  Also, I think this current case started down in Florida.
