Poor Dalbec, just can't hit at the MLB Level. Maybe someone thinks they can fix him but they won't get much out of this long project.

At long last the Sox have optioned Dalbec to Worcester.  This probably will break Bobby emotionally for sure,  but he was never gonna make it MLB, just wasn't going to happen.

In return for Bobby Sox bring up Romy Gonzalez.  He can play any position on the field, and that does include some time at 2B/SS.  Good spring in Fort Myers, and he was tearing it up in AAA so far in several games with a .320 ba and led the league in triples, and he bats right in place of Valdez.  And yes, that was against AAA pitching.

One might say that Breslow has a horseshoe up his behind.  What a stroke of genius(?) to have the Story plugin hit a homerun and get two hits in his first game.  Then to see Houck pitch a gem in his shutout innings.  Although Houck was our #1 pick several years ago.  Like y'all said the schedule gets serious with the O's, for whatever reason the Yanks draw 1-9 Marlins this week.

Great start that nobody suspected.  Fred, last year they would have lost last night's game, like they did, but then they would not have bounced back the next day.  The other good news is they only have 3 games all season that start at 8:30 or later the rest of the year.

Home stand is Baltimore, our first real test, but then the Angels and Guardians.  All in all, they have a good April schedule.

These were the kind of series that we stunk at last season---winning the first game and losing the next two so many times, and if memory serves me we were pretty much the same in 2022.  Coming a tough loss last night and hitting four dongs today could mean that MAYBE we're not as bad as many of us think we're going to be.  Still the Angels and A's are not the Orioles or the Yankees and we have to see if our homestand will continue to see the solid pitching and power we're showed in Anaheim.  Honestly, I did not think we would be 7-3 after our first ten games.  Did anyone our there think we would?

7 out of 10 on a West Coast trip.  Great starting pitching.  Who would have thunk it.

Story goes out, the defense tanks, the offense does nothing.  This was like a 2023 game.  Hope they put it behind them.

Ugly game.  Did anybody  on both teams hit the ball out of the infield?  I know the Sox struck out in bunches.
