This is exactly what Porcello is.  The disaster is his 2016 season since we now expect that.  It was an anomoly.  Porcello is and should be what he was his last season it Detroit - a solid #3 or #4 in your rotation with an ERA a bit north of 4.00 and a real inning eater.

Betts with a sensational catch. (Also fan interference.)

Rutledge with an error now. That makes 3 errors tonight? Or did they not slap JBJ with an error for his misplayed ball?

No error for JBJ.

Crappy game. On the bright side, at least the pitching and the offense are in sync. They both sucked.

Guess if you don't score some runs you don't win. On to Thursday.

Porcello + "The 5 Hit Wonders" = this stink job of a game.
Porcello is officially back to earth.
E-Rod is out for at least a month.
But this popgun offense reading its ugly head every other game is the bigger problem.

As  DAD would say, "SON, the love affair between a baseball fan and his/her team can be sometimes painful" !!   Last night was one of those times.... thumb_d

That was a crappy game period.

Sabathia is much better this year, Porcello much worse.  The main thing with Porcello is he always gives up dingers, it's just that last year they were all solo shots.  This year he's getting men on base before giving up the big blasts.

The defense is woeful without Pedroia in and the occasional Sandoval at 3B.  Bogey has always been average in the field so it's a real weakness.

Farrell has to figure out someone else who can get outs in the 8th inning. It isn't Barnes, who was set to be the closer last night, and you can't keep bringing Kimbrel in in the 8th inning or there won't be anything left later in the season.
