Pablo Sandoval placed on 10-day DL. Pedey still day to day.

Looks like the weather Gods are not going to cooperate for the 1st 2 games of the Yanks series.

Matt Barnes suspended four games IMO you throw at the head a RP should get 10 days and a SP should get 3 games not 3 days
We are talking serious and possibly fatal injuries .MLB has to get serious about head shots. I will never forget  August 18, 1967, the  Sox were playing the  Angels at Fenway Park. Conigliaro, batting against Jack Hamilton California Angels at Fenway Park.  Tony C got hit on the left cheekbone and an extremely promising career was finished.

Rob from Mass

Sox activate INF Josh Rutledge from Double-A Portland.Should platoon with Hernandez at 3rd.

Not looking to good for tomorrow's game either.Wet next few days here in Mass.

We had rain for the last 2 1/2 days in Charlotte and it was like a river heading your way.  We had about 5 inches here, 8 up in Raleigh, so good luck!

The day off can only help Pedey, he can rest and not miss a game.

Sandoval to the DL is a nice holy intervention.  Too bad we don't have someone solid to replace him with but those guys will get the job done.

I'm thinking that they ought to do for Sale what they did for Pedro - have a poll as to how many hits, runs and K's he'd get.  In Sale's case it would be how many hits and runs the Sox get.

The rainout make-up day will be a Sunday day-night twin bill.

What????? Our rich farm system everyone talks about and the best we can do is Hernandez and Rutledge.  Very sad we don't have anyone down there that we have to depend on two stiffs like H and R .

I'm hearing rumors tomorrow's game might be washed out and gone buy the boards too.  What do you hear?

Been hearing that, too, Fred. Big storm. It'll give them time to rest up, though. Hernandez and Rutledge must be cursing the weather gods.

If they are able to play tonight my advice to the team is to man up and get in there and show that you're a competitive club with designs on a solid year and not a bunch of leaderless, rudderless candy asses that fold at the first sign of pressure.  The Yanks have re-tooled with a combination of some good young players of their own along with some veteran leadership and are playing better than we are now.  It is NOT the time to fold like a tent in front of our own fans tonight and tomorrow.  We're either a pack of hungry wolves ready to tear into our foes or a meely mouthed bunch of half-ass losers who will once again disgrace our fans.  Time to saddle up and go out there and take care of the New Yorkers.
