ROYALS V RED SOX
WEDNESDAY, MAY 2,2018, 1:05 PM AT FENWAY PARK
TV: NESN, FSKC
KANSAS CITY, (8-21).............................................................................................BOSTON, (21-8)
KANSAS:
DANNY DUFFY, LHP, 0-3, 3.54 ERA, 28K
Duffy will pitch the series finale in Boston. Duffy went 6 innings Friday
night against the White Sox and gave up six hits and four runs while
walking one and striking out three.
BOSTON:
DREW POMERANZ, LHP, 0-1, 7.27 ERA, 11K
Hurt by diminished velocity and lack of definition on his curveball,
Pomeranz hasn't pitched well in his first two starts back from the
DL. He hopes for better results against the Royals, a team he
pitched well against in two no-decisions in '17.

Go Red Sox
I wonder if this team is going to play to win today.
Already 1-0 Royals.
They don't seem to be having as much fun lately. Losing will do that to a team.
They don't seem to be connecting....at anything.
Pomeranz off to bad start again + bats wake up late = nail biter to drop a series to the worst team in the AL.
At least we tied it up...
Back in it.... I love it when we HIT !! thumb_u
4-3 Sox
Stressful to watch the Sox play.
Up 5-3. We must be, like, 19-3 when Mookie's in the lineup 8) Changes everything.
A Fenway Park HR makes it 5-4. Let's see if the Sox can get an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th to give us some breathing room.
Sox win 5-4. Pomeranz did ok after struggleing early to get the win. Betts was a monster today. Kimbrel with the save. On to Texas. Interesting that the Six are 11-4 at home & 11-4 on the road.
Good win.... BTW, E-ROD on a 3 DAY family leave..... Will join us in Texas for Saturdays start..... A reliever come up today from Pawtucket..... At least it wasn't his KNEE !! iono
Sox eek out another one. If you told me Sox get 4 round-trippers, I'd say it was a blowout. But only one of the dingers had a man on base. A win is a win, nuff said.
Sounds like we're all relieved that we were able to eek out a win today instead of blowing the game as we did last night. A win is a win and that's great, but are some of us whistling past the graveyard while we're saying this. Once again Bradley went hitless and struck out two more times. He is now 3 for his last 27 at-bats and Cora keeps looking like a jackass trying to tell us he is getting good swings and is coming around. He is NOT coming around and it is doubtful he will. When you add our two pathetic hitting catchers to the mix and add hitless wonder Lin you can expect we're going to have trouble scoring runs when one third of our lineup is less than useless.
Anyone know what Bradley has on the Red Sox brass because there is no reason why he is still in the lineup or even in Boston, and if Vazquez reverts back to the good field no hit catcher he was in the minors, well then, HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM. Now we go on the road and must make up for our miserable short home stand where we only broke even. If this was just a lull, it is time for that lull to be over---and for pete's sake when will Cora or whoever is calling the shots give Blake Swihart a solid shot at either catcher or left field with either Vaz or JBJ going to the pine? It is criminal what the team is doing to that guy while pets like JBJ and Vazquez get unlimited chances to keep screwing up. But we won today so it is not as bad as it was last night.
Easy answer, it is his GLOVE with the idea that someday he will hit...... As DAD would say, "SON, JBJ's GLOVE = 2.5 hits a game, anything he gets after that is a BONUS !!!..... Unless a BLOCKBUSTER trade comes along, J B J is part of this tem to the end !!! thumb_u rofl rofl rofl rofl
Mookie 5 Royals 4. Simple as that.

Why don't you ask Elk about JBJ's defense. He's not as good as the Red Sox brass make him out to be. He is weak on drives right at him as witnessed when he fell on this face a couple of games ago. His arm is scatter-tilted with his throws often going wide or one base or another. Most importantly, his glove does not come close to making up for his miserable bat----and let me again remind you that we've seen this since 2014 and save for three hot streaks he has been as useless with the bat as tits on a bull. His glove does not save 2.5 hits a game anymore and he has become a minus when you add everything up. And their will be no blockbuster unless he is a small part of the transaction because his trade value is declining alarmingly with each miserable game performance. He is hitting about 185 over the first month and is three for his last 27 at bats. He is not helping the team more but less when he is in the lineup.

JBJ is the most overrated centerfielder in the game. Fred listed his defensive shortcomings. He does go back to his left well, resulting in some spectacular catches on the triangle which in my opinion is why Boston fans tend to overlook his other defensive shortcomings. Remember Coco Crisp and Ellsbury used to make those same plays and were better all around centerfielders when they played for Boston than Bradley is or has been. This spring MLB radio listed the top center fielders and JBJ wasn't among them.
Boston has to move on from this fantasy that JBJ is an elite centerfielder, he isn't.

As DAD would say, "SON, the fact that JBJ makes it look easy, makes him look rather AVERAGE" ....Hey, what the heck do I know??? iono iono

Top 10 CF
1. Mike Trout, Angels
2. Tommy Pham, Cardinals
3. Charlie Blackmon, Rockies
4. George Springer, Astros
5. Lorenzo Cain, Brewers
6. Christian Yelich, Brewers
7. Kevin Kiermaier, Rays
8. Chris Taylor, Dodgers
9. Michael Conforto, Mets
10. A.J. Pollock, D-backs
JBJ missing from the top 10 says it all. Seeing simply highlights of JBJ does not make his play elite.
One can also list Kevin Pilar and Adam Jones as 11 and 12 making Bradley at best 13 th or simply an above average CF. This makes him hardly indispensable.
Speaking of the Royals, I just saw the video of George Brett again (during warmups) telling the story about how he shit in his pants from eating crabs. About the funniest baseball moment I've ever seen. (I'm not sure the mods would allow me to link that on here, tho')
Exactly how that fits with this conversation is beyond me.
