That was such a tough call for JF to make yesterday in the 8th. I do not envy him a bit.

Cart and horse time. Is this team at it's best when they loose, or are they only loose when they are succeeding? Rhetorical, of course.

The Bowers thing is a big blow if we lose him, in two ways. The obvious is the innings he gave us. Second is the valuable experience someone would have gotten.

Kudos to Fister for making himself available, it that is what happened. Character is a good thing. Again, if that is what happened.

Do you(or anyone) know when the call up would not cost a year of eligibility? I know the rookie limits and such, but those could and should be different.

Service time is based on days the player is up on the MLB roster. If Devers was brought up now it wouldn't effect when the Sox would need to pay him. This year would be a wash like it didn't happen. Cubs did that with Bryant when he came up. They put him in the minors for a couple weeks so as not to give him a full year of service time. So the Cubs basically got Bryant for 7 years before he could become a free agent instead of 6 and 4 years instead of 3 before he would be eligible for arbitration.
