Raphaela is most of the offense today.  A good 4 IP for Criswell before turning it over to a pretty good bullpen.

First hit for Grissom is a two-run double, makes it 5-1.

Good game. The bats woke up and the pitching was still good. Sox win 9-2.

From what I have been seeing, the team does fine when it hits well and gets a plethora of runs to win going away, but they seem to smell bad when in a close game behind by a run or two they are almost useless from coming from behind for a dramatic win.  I also don't like seeing mad scientist Cora platooning and changing his lineups over and over again.   Injuries aside ( and he can't do much about that), he needs to play his best nine men unless it can be proven by stats that this guy or that guy can't hit lefties or righties worth a damn.

Look I don't see us being a serious contender for a playoff spot since we have inherent weaknesses in our team's composition, but to hell with these last place finishes.  We need to get out of the basement and stay out of there while we await those very god prospects I've been hearing and reading about.......and while I'm at it we need to have a new manager who can help develop  these prospects into our next outstanding team.  Cora is good with a veteran club as he proved in the past, but for us to rise above mediocrity we need someone to can get out young prospects the kind of leadership that will push us past Baltimore and New York..

Thanks for listening to me.

Fred, that's pretty much what the guys on the podcasts are saying.  In fact they insist Cora wants out of Boston and this MGT.  The need is for a new manager, as you say, that can develop young players.  Winning comes later. after the teaching.

Well said.  But I give Cora far less credit than you.  Yes his veteran club won it all but that was a can't miss team.  Cora ruined the 2019 club in ST.  He remains the most over rated manager in Major League baseball IMO.
