Yankees are playing the Rays for 3 and then to Houston for 4. Sox can't gain much on first the next three days, but have a chance to gain on the Yankees this week if they can keep putting up some wins.
Twins are a good hitting team. But statistically they hit better as a road team than home. Conversely they pitch better at home than on the road. I haven't seen stats on the Sox lately, but they have a better road record W-Ls, even after the terrible season start.
Just find a way to win tonight guys. If we play a good game we can get the first one tonight.
As DAD would say, "SON, one game at a TIME " !!! BTW , what' s with MORELAND ???? CHAVIS looks like he is a NATURAL on 1st base thumb_u thumb_u thumb_u iono iono iono iono

Isn't that the history on Moreland? Has an epic first half of season, then succumbs to the injuty bug in the latter half. But I'm not sure how the Series ends last year without the big Moreland homer in LA.
Porcello is doing great through 5. It's a shame the Sox offense can't give him a little run support. A one run lead can be gone in an instant.
7 good innings for Porcello. I think he's done. Would surprise me to see him again this game. Lets go offense. Lets get a couple more runs.
Serious pitching duel. I'll be stunned if the BP holds a one run lead.
Gawd, it's hard watching this BP ruin games. Brewer has two men on and no outs.
Heads up play by Brewer gets the lead runner. 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.
Wasn't pretty but Brewer got it done some how. On to the 9th we go.
Attaboy, Xander. Finally a clutch hit. Sox up 2-0.
Holt looks at two right over the plate. WTF?
C'mon, BP. Hold the line.
At least the Sox have a run to play with now.
They'll need it with Brasier pitching.
Apologies and props to Brasier. He smoked through the inning. Sox win 2-0. Great outing for Porcello and a surprise stellar performance by the BP.
Tremendous red sox pitching tonight. The got a couple breaks especially in that 8th inning. Great win.
WOW!
Pitching won it tonight!
Sox 2 - Twins 0
Sox have a 6 game winning streak.
Solid win against a good team!
Porcello with the win. Brasier with the save. Brewer got himself out of a mess in the 8th. Xman with a big rbi. JD with a rbi. Nice win for the Sox. On to Tuesday.
I did say in an earlier post that if we play a decent game we can win tonight, but I am surprised just how good we played. I didn't think we'd batter Barrios around but hoped that Porcello would pitch his best game of the year which I felt we needed to get a win. Well he came through big time against a real tough lineup that has ripped through their opponents this season. I really wanted Rick to go out there in the 8th because while he did have 94 pitches to his credit I had doubts about our bullpen. Scary 8th inning but Brasier did his job finally in the ninth. A real good win. Oh, we can complain if we want to about the lack of offense but, hell, so can the Twins and we went two better than they did. Again good win. Hope David is on his game tomorrow because to win this series is a real good shot in the arm.
Starting to see the light of day. 4 behind Rays (5 in loss col). The pitching seems to be solidifying a bit.

Good game and a good time to have one. Let's hope they can keep rolling.
An excellent win against a very good pitcher.
