You tell me Ted?  Dalbec has mastered the art of swinging and missing.  By now he should have developed enough to be able to hit some pitches with power and become a potential RBI man.  Then there is Valdez..... well let's worry about one guy at a time.  How about a hat trick today?

I'm guessing Valdez went down since Short is on the roster now, but I didn't see the transaction.  Dalbec would likely go when Grissom comes up tomorrow.

Here it is:  Red Sox optioned Enmanuel Valdez to Triple-A Worcester.
Valdez will head down to the minors as the Red Sox add Zack Short to their active roster. The 25-year-old struggled early on this season, striking out 33% of the time and slashing .156/.186/.267 in his 28 games played.

At the time of the trade with Houston -- Vazquez for Valdez and Abreu, Valdez was seen as a good hitter, less of a fielder.  Abreu was noted as more having just a glove tool.  As of this year, Abreu is one of the surprises of the new Sox lineup with his consistent hitting after an early slump, while maintaining his plus glove.  Meanwhile Valdez has lost his ability to hit consistently in the last few weeks.  Sometimes you have to stick with a young talent, as Sox did with Abreu.
