Mark, thanks for correcting the start time.  Apparently, I need new glasses.  I was surprised when I turned on the game around 6:35 and it was in the third inning!

Geez.  A broken rib is about a 60 day turnaround, isn't it?  They will have to scour the free agents for a 1B I would think.  What they have in the system is not going to cut it.  Kavadis?  Not sure he is a good fielder, tho he can hit it deep at times.

Casas has a rib fracture, could be out for sometime.  I imagine as this board skews the way it does in terms of age that we've all had a rib injury at some time and even a good bruise can hurt for a while, never mind trying to swing a bat too.

Gonna be a wet game if they even get it in.

First of all, I don't know diddly about what has been projected by the Fenway Group FO.  I have an inkling that they did not go out and bid for an ace to the rotation, because they were holding on to their finances for the 2025 season.

Yet that strategy does not focus on all the additional owners who will be bidding in the market in 2025 season.  We could have built the staff with a couple prized arms this year for a good start to 2025 when there were only a handful of teams bidding.  Next year the FO will have to outbid many owners just to install another building block.

Now they're out of position players.  They called up Tyler Heineman so now they have 3 catchers and Dalbec to play 1B, which leaves them with nobody to play 3B if Devers is still out.  Apparently Refsnyder played 5 innings at 1B in his rehab and may be something of an option.
