Sox optioned  Brasier and called up Hernandez.
17 ip. 16 bb  20 hits.
If they let him walk to home plate he would most likely still not get it over the plate.

Well, I applaud the EFFORT of the SOX ….. Brassier has been slipping & HERNANDEZ has GOOD STUFF to combat the EVIL control problems.....  Lets  see if FENWAY PAAK elevates the CONTROL.   iono iono

Hernandez is pitching to a 5 ERA in the minors.  Not sure where you get that he has "good stuff".  This is emblematic of the Sox' woes this year - not enough quality arms.

And a pitching coach who has never thrown a pitch at any level of organized baseball.

One of the writers was all aglow about DarHernan. last week....quoting 3 scoreless iinnings in last three outings --- 1 each)  However a smaller sample for sure.

Sounds as if he was grasping at straws ad Cora has been since he instituted his half-baked scheme to getting our team in shape for the 2019 season. Darherman has been shitty in the short time he was with the Red Sox and petty damn crappy in the minors with his plus 5 ERA.  Sounds to me like more moving the chairs on the Titanic.  Most likely this guy will not be much help, but Brasier was out and out shitty and needed to be sent down.

longgame

Another HR for Bogey.  Too bad Devers hit into the DP in front of him.

Cash gives two hits in the 1st and 2 in the 2nd, one a 3 run jack.

longgame

Pretty shaky first start.  Consider he’s replacing the parade of idiots we’ve had in there and that maybe he can get through 5 innings and its still an improvement of sorts.  But it makes you wonder about what happens when these guys put on a Sox uniform.  They lose some strike calls when Leon catches because he can’t pull a pitch without waving his mitt all over the place, but I wonder if Vazquez just doesn’t give a good target.

Sea Dog 23

Somebody named Waguespack has limited the Sox to two hits.  Cashner did make it through 5.

Not going to judge him on 1 game. Lets see how he pitches long term. He wasn't brought in to go 10-0. Was brought in to give them innings and to get someone in that spot that has a chance to win. Of course it will help if the Sox score some runs too.
