We can only hope and keep our fingers crossed---TIGHTLY.  If we can hit decently against a good pitcher we might surprise ourselves, just don't put too much money on the game.

Sea Dog 23

I think Ted would tell us, 'who else can we pitch?'  Scraping  the barrel.

ACTUALLY, Johnson is a GUTSY JUNK throwing guy that can keep us in the game for 2 or 3 innings, some times  4+ ……. & keeps the other team OFF BALANCE !! iono iono iono iono iono

Murph

Johnson would have trouble playing for LL team in Williamsport. Belongs in low A ball.

Any time you pitch Johnson you're asking to a tragedy.  He has a weak fastball, a sloppy curve, piss poor control and the ability to become a human pinata on the mound.  He cannot pitch a clean inning let alone give us three or four without giving up four runs.  He sucks and is one guy we need to get rid of.  He cost us the game tonight with his shitty pitching.   Never like the chubby bum. Of course Sea Dog Bogaerts had a brain cramp trying to go to third from second on a ball hit right in front of him. Stupidly he was out.....good player but sometimes prone to commit a dumb move.  As for Owings, we put him as a pinch runner and he gets doubled up on a liner right to second and not more than 15 feet from where he was.  I guess he never heard of the old saying...LINE DRIVE,  MAKE SURE IT'S THROUGH.   BTW, has Owings done anything worth shit since he has been with us?  Being a three team reject, maybe he is trying too hard, or maybe he's just a dumb shit.

Sorry Bill but Johnson doesn't fit that at all unless you stop with his be ing a junk pitcher.  Guts is not something he is known for and has missed a lot of time because he was in stress mode under a doctor's care.  And he never seems to go out there and throw two or three clean innings.  He has gotten his tits lit the last four or five times he has polluted  the mound for us.  He simply stinks and should be sent on a one way trip to Zanzibar with his friend Barnes after this season.

Yes, he did give up 3 runs as he ate 3 + - innings …….  That would have been a thank you on most nights, but the VAUNTED SOX OFFENSE left their bats in the on deck circle !! iono iono iono iono

Exactly.  Our rotation right now is E-Rod, Porcello, Eovaldi and Johnson.  Not exactly a fearsome group.  Johnson pitched well enough.  Sox had a couple of chances.  I think there's a thing where Betts and Devers can never get a hit in the same inning.

More reason to go with the OPENER for the rest of the season...… Also, not to deal with "what if's", buuuut, the base running gafe with zero outs cost us a BIG INNING. WHAT IF ???? iono iono iono iono iono iono

Last night was the perfect metaphor for this season as a whole.  While one doesn't win a game in the first inning but you sure can lose it especially when one makes boneheaded moves on the basepaths.

As fate would have it,  the Rays are having a disastrous series with the M's.  In any other year, we could take advantage of that.  But sh!t happened this year, it is what it is.
