Sure would be nice to win two in a row; been awhile since we have done that.  Be even nicer if Bradley would get a couple of hits to get his average above 220 again.  How about it guys?????

Classic case of a terrible ball 4 call followed by a HR by the next guy.  The ump missed a ball that was 6 inches below the top of the zone.

Yes he missed it badly and Upton was already making a turn towards hit dugout, but if Johnson was the nervous nellie and gutless bum that he is he wouild have gotten the next man.  Instead he did the worst thing imaginable and gave up a three run homer to Pujols.  BTW, opposing teams were hitting 385 against this turd entering the game.  Is this the best we can do for a pitcher?

Productive inning ended by a GIDP, of course. Still, this one should be winnable.

Great. We're walking in runs again. Eovaldi is not coming around very well. He could blow the game right here.

markj

Out of it with a DP. Glad to see the Sox aren't the only ones who screw up major scoring chances with DPs.

I've seen a lot of pitchers have that happen to them, from Sale to Pedro.  They lose concentration after the blown call.  Never fails.

Other than that, Johnson did fine and even though Eovaldi was a little shaky, he ended up getting out of it.  Then again, the Angels just aren't very good and the loss of their most tenured pitcher this season didn't help.  They've really been through a lot as a franchise in that manner.

We really reputed in the late innings after Mookie gave us the lead in the fifth inning.  Nice to have a wipe out win once in awhile.  Of course, haven't we done this before only to come out cold the next game?  With the pressure off, however, we ought to be more relaxed and go out there and try to win another game.  The Playoffs are now pretty well out of sight so we should just enjoy every win we are able to muster.  We've already split the series with the Halos and now we have to win the series. and go from there.
