Another late change to the lineup. JDM out, Travis Shaw in as DH in the 8th spot.

Might as well call him the DO, since he's sure to be a Designated Out.

Come back from a walk with my wife and find it's 7-2 Sox in the 3rd. Sweet.

markj

Ha! I guess Shaw heard me dissing him and decided to make me eat crow. Fine. I can do that.

Seabold done for the night after 3 innings, 43 pitches, and 2 ER. Not bad for a rookie. Hopefully it was planned that he would only go 3 innings. Richards in now. He needs to eat some innings and not blow this lead.

How about shaking Vasquez off twice on the final pitch? Nice! Kid had a plan.

I can't see Tek in his heyday putting up with a rookie shaking off his calls.

Raffy blows a DP. Ugh. Inning should be over. Hope this doesn't freak out Richards.

Great. Pull the rookie and send in a former starter and the game goes to hell. Devers is directly responsible for this debacle.

Yea Raffy blew the play but I do not like that alignment of having the 3rd baseman play shortstop.  I prefer the alignment where the SS stays in his natural spot and the third baseman moves to the right side of second.  In that alignment only one guy is out of position instead of two.  Plus I think they shift way too much.  Their defense is too porous to shift as much as they do imo.
