Turned out well for Bello.  With our pitchers going down, Bello had to pitch on four days rest.  The last time he did that, he got bombed.  Jansen had a rough 9th, getting out of it with two runners left on.  On to the Guardsmen.

Sox hang on to win 5-4. Decent game overall.

Some timely hitting by Abreu, where has he been, although his first hit should have been logged an error by the RF.he also ran the bases well.  Pulling for Criswell, as he pitched for my alma mater.  But getting back to earth, only the first win at home, and we've got Cleveland and Pirates coming up.  Pirates put a harbinger on our team last year with a sweep

Abreu, Dalbec, Valdez, Hamilton and the new face of the Red Sox, error prone and strikeout king Rafaella?  How can the Red Sox win with a bunch of bums like that in the lineup.  Please Breslow, back up the truck and get the first four of them loaded aboard and sent to  the minors or released.   They simply stink to high heaven.

They can't even decide who is going to be on the mound in a few hours.

Story was the best infield defender they had and the idea he would make those on either side better (or less exposed).  The problem is that was assuming that he had Devers and Grissom on either side. While neither is a defensive whiz, they can field the position.  No depth strikes hard when 3/4 of your infield is out.

Well, we were expecting .500 baseball or worse, so here we are.
