Pearce with a GIDP to end the inning. Not the Pearce we saw last season.

Sox can get to 3 behind the Rays should they lose to the Yanks. 3-1 NY in the 7th

AND the Sox beat the Mariners 11 - 2.
SWEET SWEEP!

Sox have gone 9 - 2 in the month of May!
LOVE the scoring on two outs in an inning.
5 wins in a row!

Devers has had 3 three hit games in a row.

Offense is finding its stride.

YAHOOOO!

Thanks for the Mother's Day gift Sox!

Hector Velazquez with the win with 5 good innings. Good pitching & good hitting. Some help from the Mariners. Great series for the Sox. On to Tuesday.

Sox are certainly finding their stroke.  Even Bradley and Leon contributed this series, and Chavis showing sme positive signs today.

Has anybody heard about a spat brewing between Porcello and Vazquez?

Murph

In the last 19 days, the Sox went from -43 to plus 27 in RDiff. Pretty damn good playing.

Nothing in writing, only anecdotal and also coming from some espn trolls. Leon caught Rick yesterday, and I don't know who normally catches him.  Leon also caught Rick in Chicago, but Vaz replaced Sandy in that game I think when Rick was taken out.  I hope no more drama, at least we only have two catchers now!

The stats show Leon gives our starters a better era than Vaz, Porce about 3/4 pts lower, except for ERod, about even.  Sale and Price have an era about twice as high with Vaz catching.

It's getting close to DFA Pearce. Even Brentz can at least hit 190-210.

Purcello apparently said last year that he prefers pitching to Leon.  It is fairly well known that Leon was the preferred choice of a number of Red Sox starters but that doesn't necessarily mean that there is any bad feeling between Purcello and Vazquez.   The truth is Leon is the better "receiver" behind the plate although if you recall it was Leon who bumped into Purcello early in yesterday's game causing Purcello to be charged an error on that pop up in front of the mound which was clearly Leon's fault.

Speaking of making errors as bad as I thought the White Sox were defensively, this Seattle team takes defensive lapses to a whole other level.  I haven't such poor infield play since the days of Rod Kanehl and Charlie Neal of the 62 Mets who made 60 errors between the two of them.

Another season series redeemed.  The Sox are rolling and in no small part due to Devers and now Chavis too.  They are 11-2 in the last 13, which is what we had said they needed.  They are clearly the team playing the best right now.  Now a day off, a couple with Colorado and then a big Houston series after some more rest.  Too many days off just as they get hot!
